How bout investing in enough sitting areas for all the guests you plan on inviting. Theres nothing worse than a poorly planned event, imho. No one wants to sit on a hard arse cooler, if theres a chair available somewhere

I don't think I hang out with people that would rather not drink than ask someone to get up.
Put the cooler away from where people are hanging out and nobody will want to sit by themselves in the corner.
Or put your chilled beverages in a raised open tin like a sophisticated baw so people don't have to bend over and grab a beer out of your Coleman coffin.

Does this really bother you? If someone is sitting on it and I want something out of it I am not scared to ask. Why would someone be scared to ask someone to get up so they can get whatever they need out of it?
There is one thing with coolers that is kind of a pet peeve, but I am not going to hate people who do this.. But when people have a yeti cooler or ice chest and they refer to it as "the yeti" instead of "the cooler" or "ice chest".
