Let’s have a good chat that you correctly pointed out on how our offense last year was vastly different than the Saints offense. Every time announcers would mention that Brady brought the Saints playbook to BR, I would cringe. Our playbook was a OUR playbook.

Ensminger fan boys lack any kind of rationale. They truly believe he was the man behind that offense

Damn what took so long...
Burrow under center a bunch in 2018 and zero bunch formations. We also sucked in the red zone.

What most people actually believe is that veteran coaches can learn an offense in a year.
Most people can differentiate between offense implementation and play calling, which are totally different skill sets and responsibilities.
Brady played a huge role in the offense. People attempting to downplay his role are as bad as people trying to downplay Ensminger's role.
I personally believe it was an aligning of many different elements, including Burrow, talented receivers, a veteran offensive line, a running back perfect for the offense and coaches willing to use that talent (finally).
The key thing that has happened at LSU, which goes beyond specific coaches, is the obvious commitment to a modern spread offense.
People suggesting that LSU is going back to a shitty offense because Brady took the keys with him are intellectually dishonest.

I’m not an ensminger fan boy but I surely am capable in understanding that Joe Brady couldn’t have pulled off what he did without a veteran to implement.
Yes I believe Brady called plays in red zone and made in game adjustments.
No I don’t think Brady could have made it happen without ensminger.

You said that perfectly.
I don't get why both sides have to shite on the other coach

Ohh I would've loved moorhead but I think at that point they weren't even interviewing people
Moorhead would've really been a true homerun hire
Cristobal is building a monster

I believe everything you said and agree with you 100%.
I love E, I just don’t think he is innovative and can make in game adjustments.
He didn’t have good offenses when he was OC at Texas AM and Clemson. He was a position coach for a decade before taking O’s offer and at that point people were justly skeptical because it showed O was timid to go out and make another OC after the Canada debacle. I’m really happy E found Brady and suggested him to O.
I personally want someone young and innovative in the booth with E to help with the things he maybe lacking and there’s nothing wrong with that.

I think Ensminger is a solid play caller, but when it comes to the other aspects of being an OC he’s severely lacking, it’s really showed when he’s been sole OC and we faced comparable talent. We have a fairly large sample size of him as a sole OC to determine he’s just not a very good one. People get really emotional when it comes to Ensminger and act like it’s a personal attack on him to say these things.

I'm certainly not an Ensminger fan boy, but I also don't like revisionist history.
Ensminger was one of the hottest young offensive coordinators in the country during his stints at Georgia, Texas A&M and Clemson.
To say that his offenses were not good is patently false.
Ensminger has been an offensive coordinator or passing game coordinator at 5 Power Five schools: Georgia, Texas A&M, Clemson, Auburn and LSU. At every school except Auburn (where he was only interim) his quarterback finished his career as the leading passer in school history.

He just lacks depth as a play caller & innovator & joe Brady coming along proved that.
You certainly don’t work with Brady for 1 year and all of a sudden adapt all his traits. Especially after coaching for 30 years under your own terms.
He’s become a charity case and no one dislikes that more than him. It’s all over his face when they try and publicly praise him. The fans just run with the coach & player-speak

I went ahead and researched where his offenses ranked.

Total offense ranking
Clemson:
1997- 61
1998- 93
Texas A&M:
1994- 34
1995- not in top 50 (not referenced in ncaa past 50)
1996- 61
Your statement was patently false.

hence why Joe handled the red zone and 3rd down play calling...you know the critical downs. The steve was calling the plays crew seem to gloss over this. Do people forget our red zone struggles the previous year
I don't doubt he helped Joe in some capacity with his experience and knowledge....but come on it was the Brady/Burrow show

Why did he have to take 3 high school coaching jobs after that then? Including 2 where he wasn't even offensive coordinator. Ouch.

Very true. The only relevance is that people say he was not a good coordinator back then, but he was very successful and got three consecutive Power 5 jobs as OC or PGC.
As an LSU fan in the 90s when we were going through our worst decade, it was painful to watch a former LSU quarterback setting records at other schools.
People who say his offenses were not good at that time are just repeating incorrect information they have heard.
Eric Zeir at Georgia, Corey Pullig at Texas A&M and Nealon Greene at Clemson were all record-setting quarterbacks.

Did you not see what I posted?
I posted facts something concrete and objective. You’re spouting out emotional statements that don’t carry any weight.
And once again I love E. Players love him. But he can’t do this on his own.
