Sunny Southern California is probably the biggest myth I believed into adulthood

Hey, let’s visit SOCAL in May? Oh you haven’t heard if May grey? We’ll just try June. You mean June gloom? frick it, we’ll take our chances in July. Let me introduce you to no sky July. Needless to say, for all of you amateur travelers, California weather is overstated. Visited last year in May/June and probably saw the sun 10% of the time during the day and it was a little brisk.

I was shocked how cold the ocean was in LA. I've been twice, both times in August, and both times the water was COLD.

I'll probably take all that over Southeast Louisiana's Hotter than Hell May, Roast My Balls June, Please Just Kill Me Now July and Please Just Kill Me Now: The Sequel August.

Pacific ocean currents along the coast typically flow from the north to the south, quite the opposite of the Atlantic's gulf stream that brings up warmer water from the lower latitudes.

We were in San Diego last June. The weather was terrible, you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting two or three dirty, stinking homeless scum, and everything was expensive as shite. The most overrated city in the U.S. In fact, frick all of California in general.
