Yes, restorative justice and environmental justice are the hot topics that folks in the rust belt hang their vote on

It’s not that he can’t. He’s a bright guy. He absolutely can.
It’s that he won’t.
It’s that he won’t.

YES! All are Left of Center. And half of them are FURTHER Left than the other half.
If you take a “set” (call it the Dem Party) and put equal numbers of its constituent parts into two, equal-sized groups, those groups are called “halves.”
If you select the the members of each “half” by comparison of some trait to other members within the “set,” the result will be that the two “halves” will be distinct based upon that trait, unles all constituent parts are homogenous.
For example, if you put the Klobuchars and Bidens in one half and put the Warrens and Sanders in the other half, the former will be ideologically-rightward of the latter ... even if BOTH halves are FAR, FAR Left of the GOP.
That is as far as I am able to dumb-down this concept for you. If you find that it is still beyond your comprehension, I suggest that you Google “Schoolhouse Rock.”

If you’d just refrain from this condescending rhetoric followed by the heroic shtick...
Damnit man
You are a lawyer and are supposed to be able to sell ideas and positions.
Do you use the condescending tone in court? No. Why not?

I highly doubt his firm allows him in court or near clients

RG, the first words he typed were “you are such a jackass,” in response to a perfectly-rational analysis of the efforts by the less-Left Dems to syphon certain 2016 Trump voters. I responded thru three exchanges without vitriol, despite a long-held belief that he is as dumb as a particularly slow-witted bushel of turnips. Finally, he described me as a “fricking dipshit” for a VERY objective and accurate analysis.
Frankly, I think he deserves a bit of condescension, and I make no apologies for providing it.
Compare to Bandit. We disagree often, but he is polite to me, so I am polite to him.
Don’t start nothin’ and there won’t be nothin’

Neither I nor any living human is going to convince a rabid zealot to behave reasonably.

If he’d drop the condescending shite I think people would read his posts and consider his positions more. Dude isn’t stupid. The problem is he’ll tell you how smart he is. I’ve never met anyone like that in my life. It’s unique and surprising.
The notion that he spends so much effort on thoughtful posts just to piss all that effort and time away when people just instantly downvote and ignore. That’s crazy to me. If I want you to consider my thoughts and really respect my input I’m not going to sling insults even if insulted first.
It’s like selling someone a car. If they say your tie is ugly you don’t call them savages with no sense of style and them ask them to accept the quoted price for the vehicle.
The buyer would tell you to go frick yourself and move on.
That’s the basic scenario that hank finds himself in here. I just don’t think he sees that.
ETA: as analytical as hank is? I hope he tries to digest the above.

I totally get it. But you are selling something and insulting the buyers. They aren’t going to buy.
Do you see what I’m saying? I’m trying to tell you that you have some decent ideas even if you always play contrarian (that’s another separate issue) but people tune you out because of your sales style.
Maybe you don’t care. That’s entirely possible.

Anything other than lockstep Trumpism will not get a fair hearing in this venue, regardless of how one phrases it.
I ask in all seriousness, please point to even one “condescending” post which was not made in reply to someone who first insulted me.
Is it your suggestion that for every post I make I simply ignore ten posts insulting my morals, my intelligence, my parentage and my personal grooming?

That’s not true. I’ve softened on you and try to see the good in your posts now. That wasn’t always the case.
I can’t be the only one.

There are some but not many and IMO they're new or don't come here often so they don't know a person's position; you can be a "Trumpism" and still disagree with something he says. Hell I get flamed from time to time and 99% of the people on here know I'm pro-Trump.

Only if you want to really sell your ideas.
Think about the courtroom. You clearly don’t sell anything in the seller buyer sense but you do sell in the courtroom.
Would your insults help or hurt in the courtroom regardless of being insulted first or not?
I don’t know how you started your journey here but I do see why folks are “resistant” to your ideas.

In candor, responding in kind to the sort of idiot that started this exchange works as a bit of a catharsis for me,
You are correct. In court, I simply cannot call an idiot an idiot, so I must continue to employ reason against even the dumbest conceivable arguments. I admit that it just feels good sometimes to tell a fricking retard exactly how stupid he really is.
It really is not that different from the typical Trump pep rally poster who starts two threads per week verbally fellating Trump. For whatever reason, it makes them feel good, too.
I generally avoid those threads, and it would be nice if the pep rally posters would reciprocate by avoiding the threads in which people are trying to have an objective discussion of policy or a reasoned analysis of a given issue. They don’t, and it is generally the pep rally posters who send us off on these pointless tangents.
The difference from the courtroom analogy is that (in a courtroom), I am usually presenting a case to one person ... who is generally intelligent and generally trying to be objective. Yes, there are posters here who are intelligent and there are posters who try to be objective, but it is my experience that both are in the distinct minority. The pep rally posters outnumber them by a significant margin.

I can & do, but it's best to "keep that in the family".
But don't hate the playa (Democratic party), hate the game (the primary system). If you give more ideological activist voters control over the nominees you're bound to get more more extreme & ideological nominees. It doesn't just happen in the Democratic party, btw.

That's just not true and I suspect you know it. It's true of a small subset of posters, to be sure. I've leveled all sorts of criticism at Trump as have others without getting into a pissing contest. In fact, the worst I've ever been criticized was from ShortyRob (sp?) in a discussion of morality; it had nothing to do with Trump.

That's not what you are saying. You are attempting to label part of the democrat as not far leftists or even moderates. That's just not true. There is no right leaning half of the democrat party. There is a part that isn't quite as far left but that's not at all how you tried to present your statement and you know it. Way to keep being dishonest Hank.
