TPC Louisiana - Theres no way this place makes money right?

Take a look at the tee sheet of TPC Louisiana and you will see times are wide open from now through Mardi Gras. After a multi million dollar renovation, it seems that this course would be dead within months if it wasn’t for the Zurich.
So what’s the bigger problem here:
Lack of golf interest in the area
Or
$100+ Tee times pricing out the clientele
What do y’all think?

When do they stop letting public play in preparation for the Zurich?

$100 rounds
Not exactly close to anything
Not the most compelling Pete Dye layout
New City Park course probably taking some of the play
that would be my guess.

Many may not agree but I’ve always felt like Louisiana lacks in interest in comparison with other southern/southeastern states.

Probably the worst time of year to play golf on the gulf coast (at least Texas and Louisiana)
This year we have been lucky with sunny days on the weekend but most courses don’t drain out fast. Even if the course is open it’s cart path only, so why book in advance

It’s no Squire Creek, but it’s a TPC course. Some TPC courses charge a lot more than $100 per round.

Expensive, in the middle of nowhere, not a particularly challenging or interesting layout, Mardi Gras, LSU, pelicans all getting family entertainment dollars

There are not very many golf courses that make money.

Location couldn’t be worse for that course to succeed imo. Thankfully they have Zurich out there

Not sure about their business model, but I love the golf course.

Headed down to TPC- Louisiana to play the last week of June. Looking forward to seeing how we fare compared to the Zurich field on that last par 3
