tough label on him being "the next Michael Jordan" because not being that shouldn't be held against him because being Vince Carter was pretty good, not to mention entertaining

I’d say he’s probably the closest to MJ in most things except the midrange fade which goes to Kobe.
As a UNC fan, it’s still mind boggling he has no championships in college or professional hoops.
Pretty incredible the Tarheels didn’t get one with Carter, Haywood, Williams, Cota, and Jamison.
Shame he went to an expansion team that never really gave him enough help to win one either.
Carter was clutch AF and the dunks he pulled off in game as still incredible.
Also one of the best nicknames in the game in Vin-Sanity.

Knocked my h.s. out of the playoffs 25 years back. We had a guy on that team who played at Indiana. He definitely posterized one of my buddy's older brother too

Vinsanity was so much fun to watch

I have an autograph trading card of his with a piece of his team USA game worn jersey on it. I wonder if it’s worth anything these days.

Also the only player in nba history to play in 4 different decades.

As a kid watching him at North Carolina vs Duke was the best!

The dude was able to just soar in the air.......

Best dunker I’ve ever seen. He would do dunk competition dunks in actual games while guarded.

Sergeant Vince Carter

My favorite basketball player from my childhood. Greatest dunker of all time.

He had all the talent to become something like that he just didn’t have that extra drive like a Kobe. Vince was a band guy and didn’t get serious about hoops until he was a jr. in HS. I was at UNC basketball camp his incoming freshman summer and this cute councilor got close to my roommates and I but we didn’t know she was dating Vince. She heard us talking about him, basically worshipping him after seeing him in the gym and destroying Stackhouse in alumni game, so she invited him to have breakfast with us and we got to hang out with him the rest of the week. We got him to sign anything we had with us and I’ve still got the stuff today. He’s a very good dude very friendly.

It’s crazy to think he has played in 4 different decades. That can’t have happened too often

I remember watching when that dunk on the heat happened.
