Divinity’s 4 failed drug tests say otherwise, and Divinity did not have a swoll head coming into LSU. Evans is trouble plain and simple, he isn’t considered a generational running back and have 3 studs on the roster now 2 of them have two years left there is NO reason to take a chance of a kid that has that many off the field issues coupled with his grade issues.

Evans might be trouble, but he’s by far the best back in this class.

Wild, that is the best take I seen on Evans. I agree with your post, Evans has shown a lot of immaturity and lack of discipline, but he hasn't done anything illegal, so I would differently give him a chance.
When we're talking about character, discipline, headcase, etc. it should be condensed down to the one thing that really, only, matters in regards to such: is he coachable?

It's science... if not coachable that talent will not show up to its full potential.

A coach will take a coachable POS any day. They will not take an un-coachable saint.

The coaches at North Shore are the ones to ask. I don't their answer will be to the positive.

I think the combination of O, Kevin Faulk, Tommy Robinson (if he is here), and the 3 backs that are here can keep him bottled up. Coach O has created a family atmosphere and I think Evans would look at that as a need in his life.

To me he is a definite take, but if he really bombed the SAT it doesnt really matter.

Its very easy for people on a message board to trash a kids character when they have no idea the pressure that goes long with being the number one rated running back in the country.

I have a lot of past experience with high level recruits and their families. Being recruited is not fun. Being a kid like Evans makes it even worse because he is a program game changer.

Granted he is immature and entitled, but I havnt heard anything that should make anyone feel he is a lost cause. The other thing posters are not understanding is that a lot of kids do what Evans have, but we never know because their coaches let them play anyway.

Not being a dick, but what really goes along With it that others have been able to handle, while some couldn’t?

Let’s say he’s top 100 instead of top 10 do you think that changes a hypothetical player?

Something is definitely up with Evans...5 CB's for Darvon Hubbard to TAMU in the past 24 hours. This is going to be interesting!

What? Being a high-level recruit causes behavioral issues? That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

I had actual experience being recruited myself and it was a fricking blast.

Great! We are all geared differently. You were fortunate to be able to enjoy the ride.

Think I will go ahead and trust Coach O's judgment on this as opposed to Dudebro2's.

Before all the personal issues emerged he was touted as the best RB out of Texas since Adrian Peterson. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't.

I've said before, at this point I'm not going to be upset either way. I'll let it play out and if the coaches think he's worth the risk, so be it.

It matters because it's a waste to let a guy sign who won't qualify.

If he was an option, all of the schools would still be on him. The interest you are seeing now are schools trying to get in line for after JUCO.

Completely agree with this take. This is all LSU fans need to consider:

1) he is a top 3 talent at RB in this class
2) We have talent at the position. Therefore if he is a problem, trust the coaches to make the right decision and part ways with him. Easier to make that decision when you have other options.
3) For those using Divinity as an example, did he get in the way or distract a team from winning a championship this year??? No and I think it was handled well by O.

I’m really curious to understand from anyone in the know what our actual interest in Evans is at this point. It seems like we could get him if we want him and I just can’t fathom turning a player like that away. I don’t think he would be uncontrollable or anything once he’s in the program. We’ll keep him in line
