Who are some freshmen you believe will see significant PT on defense in the fall?

I know it all depends on scheme with the new DC we’ll hire, but I expect a few of our freshmen to play on defense.
I would not be shocked if Phillip Webb saw significant playing time.
Also would not be shocked to see Sampah make a big push at inside linebacker.
I’m sure we’ll see quite a bit of Ricks on the field next season too.
As for the offense, I doubt we have any freshmen get significant playing time.

Whoever wins this battle will be getting picked on all year since nobody will throw at Stingley. I think Flott is very talented and could be in line for a big year

Forgot about him. Yeah I’m sure he sees some. Who else do we have at TE? Pettigrew?

We also signed Kole Taylor 6'7 TE he stayed with us even after Gilbert committed. We really liked his film If we decide to run 2 TE sets.

Webb and Ojulari could be used as athletic pass rushers. Depends on the DC.

I look for Roy and maybe Gaye to make the two deep at DE.

Jordan Toles has good length. Probably will see the field as they try out defensive packages. Has a 6’3 frame they could pack some weight on, turn him into a Richard Sherman type

Gaye should def be in the 2 deep.

Gaye isn’t a freshman

Ricks and Gilbert are the two easy ones. They should both start at some point.
Boutte is too athletic to keep off the field, interested to see who gets JJ slot spot. (Kirkland and Palmer)
If we can flip SVP I can see him starting at Center.
Anyone else would be a stretch. Roy will get some play I would assume.

I would actually be very surprised if Ricks plays. Stingley, Vincent, Flott, Ward and Jones might have something to say about that. Ricks is no Stingley. Stingley was more polished coming in.

SVP will not start at center. Centers call the assignments for the line and Hines as some experience. No freshman should start at center.

Gilbert is going to be an instant starter.
