At least they haven’t been given mulligans like Saban has. Before you mention 2016 for Ohio State, they were a completely deserving CFP team.

Saban has gotten some good breaks. Wasn’t it two years he won a NC without winning the SEC West? But he’s also won some straight up. Undefeated in 2009.
As an LSU fan, yeah I hate how 2011 turned out but LSU got BCS breaks too. Two losses in 2007. 2003 the computers picked us over USC due to some Hawaii game or whatever.

Sure. Every NC team that didn’t run the table got help. But I don’t think any other coach has won a NC without winning their own division, and Saban i think did it twice. I could be wrong. I know OK played for a NC after losing its conference championship game.

Saban was given a mulligan over Urban in 2017. Remember when everyone wanted a two loss OSU team who lost to Iowa by a million, to get in? Saban got in an won it all. Saban is 2-0 in "mulligan" national title games.

There really isn’t much reason to mention Nick Saban catching breaks(other than teams above his losing games, which is fine and not worth mentioning when saying he’s lucky).
