Dallas has been one the top pass defending defenses the past few years. Their D Line was a big problem, that has nothing to do with Richard. They didn’t sign or big in anyone and Demarcus Lawrence is inconsistent. We have the D line and secondary to be elite.

Also he’s young and fiery, whether you believe it or not, players relate and respond to that. He also gives us another pipeline into Cali. A prestigious one!

I have no issue with him coming on this staff. I'm not sure DC is the position for him here though. Maybe he's a replacement for Busch with the a title to input into gameplans for whoever DC is. He's not a DC right now but him also being a passing game coordinator should show he's very smart.

True, just noting having a connection to one of the best Cali Football schools is excellent.

I live in dallas and listen to sports radio talk here every day. They LOVED Richard.... their biggest worry when firing Garrett was always losing Richard. Hell sometimes they would say they wouldn't mind him becoming the coach

He was a "defensive" passing game coordinator. Dallas has had this unique position for a few years.

You know he was a DC for Seattle from 2015-17. He was also allowed to call the D in Dallas on a regular basis according to Rod Marinelli.

How much smoke is there with this hire? Just wondering why it's here and not on the Coaching Changes Board. If it hasn't been moved there, seems like there's something to this?

Yes, and he also was booted from Seattle for his defense constantly declining. And Dallas didn't have a good defense this year either. Dallas defense shite the bed A LOT this season. The entire team did and it wasn't lack of talent. If you're going to associate him with calling Dallas defense then you also have to associate him with their failures. Not saying he's a bad coach I'm questioning if he's a good DC and if DC is the job for him. I'm not crazy for this guy to be DC but I trust O to make right decision. I'd love him on staff just unsure about DC is all I'm saying.

We are all hoping at this point. Someone said paid sites are reporting the interview. Also I would like to add the Legion of Boom fell apart due to injuries. Browner became a dickhead and left for more money. Earl tore up his leg. Richard Sherman became displeased after Pete Carrol ruined their super bowl win and Kam Chancellor retired due to severe injuries.

While Seattle did run a cover 3 scheme, he had great success in Dallas running man. Ranked 9th and 11th respectively.

Like I said you didn’t read or pay attention. Dallas D Line was their problem. David Irving quit because he didn’t want to stop smoking Weed. Layton Vander Esch a top linebacker in the league was injured. Their secondary was one of the best in the league dude.

LSU DC is a much easier job IMO. If you have a weak corner in the NFL he’ll get picked on but here we don’t have weak players.

Any recruiting is also an upgrade over Aranda at least. We need another good recruiter on this staff so if this is the guy hopefully they get a homerun hire for LB coach assuming they'll do that.

Well since he’s from Cali he could recruit Korey Foreman. He’d have Jacobian Guillory, Siaki Ika, Tyler Shelvin, Jaquelin Roy, Neil Farrell, Glen Logan, Marcel Brooks, Philip Webb and BJ Ojulari and more.
