He proved them all wrong once in spectacular fashion. Who's to say he wont turn right back around and do it again? Look, it's a little delusional to think we wint take a step back next year and maybe even the next. But one thing that O has proven is that where there's a problem or a weakness he will go full force in attempting to correct it.

This alone gives us a better chance to be back than we had with Miles. He wouldn't change anything. Even if we do have a disappointing season next year I have full confidence that O will do some shite to correct it and get us back to the top. He's not complacent. He knows what he needs to do now. I have faith in him and I think we all should until he proves to us that we shouldn't anymore.

Who is turning on coach O?

I think he's pretty much proven he can the right ship when it's going the wrong direction.

EDIT - and to be clear, I think we are going in the right direction. Your coordinators getting poached is a sign of success.

I dont necessarily mean LSU fans although I have seen a couple retards. I'm talking more about national people and fans of other teams. Probably should have used a different tone in the OP

frick Les Miles that bum, he nearly ruined LSU and brought us to some dark times. He couldn't win once Sabans players left and constantly brought LSU down. He kept his archaic offense and O was a ray of sunshine through the storm that Les left.

People who are scared to death that Orgeron is exactly where he wants to be, is exactly the man for the job, and is building a dynasty that he won’t leave for the NFL or any other job. If I’m an Alabama fan with Nick Saban pushing retirement age, I’m petrified at the prospect of LSU taking over as the top dog.

This is just what happens when you have a head coach so dependent on his staff. People leave, and you constantly have to be hoping to keep hitting on talented people on both sides of the ball. Then if you do a good job finding talented people, it’s a never ending cycle.

Why you think teams started looking to hire offensive/qb potential geniuses? If you hit on one, and they are OC, you will lose them faster than a great defensive guy. And if you have the great offensive or defensive guy as head coach, then you only ever have to worry about the one spot.

As much as I wasn't a fan of Miles the back half of his tenure, this is just not true. We were one game away from being one of the GOAT teams in 2011.

Im not turning on O. But this is a huge hire and some of the better ones out there that we as fans know of, arent coming here.

But he has shown to make quick changes if things dont work out.

I don’t think people are doubting him but this is a critical period. We can either stay dominant or slip back to 3/4/5 losses per year

I tend to think O will get it done but we will see

Ok? Hes proven he can find the talented coaches and he will always be able to get the players. If he whiffs on a coordinator here and there that doesnt mean the next Joe Brady isnt right around the corner waiting for O to find him and take LSU to another title. All I'm saying is with the type of coach O is our results will probably be more widely distributed than with Miles but we will always have more of a chance at winning a title simply because he looks to fix weaknesses.

If by people you mean the jackasses on SEC Rant? That's the only crowd I saw that thinks the whole thing is hilarious and I even saw one dude say that the decline already started. But I haven't seen any LSU fans here getting negative about Coach O.

Unless you're just trolling us all (which is a strong possibility).

I'm a doubter. Not afraid to be on the record.

Thrilled (albeit surprised) we won a Championship with him at the helm.

He is amazing guy and great for the university. I just have my doubts he is a good football coach.

We'll see now that he's lost both coordinators and just about every player of merit on the team.

If O isn't propped up by the most expensive coordinators in the country again, with a top QB prospect, I suspect we will have 3-4 losses per year with him as the HC.

Not a popular opinion obviously. We're coming off the best NCAAF season of all time and O is now cemented in LSU History. But especially this coming season, I don't see how we manage to get through with fewer than 3 losses.

I don't think he has the stuff to be a "dynastic" HC. Great ambassador. Great Recruiter. Great rah-rah leader. But he's not a coach. We caught lightning in a bottle this year with a perfect storm

Hopefully he hits it out of the park again like when he hired Aranda.
