He absolutely stuck the landing just like with Leftovers.

This thread.. wow. Lindelof said even before the first episode aired that he was only planning on doing one season. HBO would give him a blank check for 4 more seasons if he wanted to. But how do you replace Lindelof after a successful first season? No matter who you get, it’d fee like a completely different show

Anyone who thinks HBO spent all that time, money, and effort developing this show for a one off season is a damn fool. They market all of their limited series as such. This wasn’t marketed as such.
They worshipped at the alter of Progressivism and got what they deserved. frick them and their soy arse fanboys.

Oh that must be why we have a new season of the Sopranos and the wire coming out this year

It wasn't a cliffhanger. Season was designed as a stand-alone.
Agreed. Anyone that thought the “cliffhanger” would need to be resolved obviously never read the series. Or if they did, they completely missed the tone

Damon Lindelof introducing plot lines and mysteries he never intends to resolve?
I mean, sure he deserves criticism for this with Lost, but there was really nothing left to wrap up with Watchmen. Anyone caught up on the ending is kind of missing the point.
Also, lol at the polibaws still triggered by this show

Hell no. If anything the leftovers was an anomaly and the last few episodes was lindelof returning to form

Hooded Justice was a secondary character at best, not the protagonist.
What show did you watch? Because it must not have been the one that starts with what Hooded Justice experienced as a boy in Tulsa. Did you miss him killing the sheriff and setting everything into motion? How about the entire episode devoted solely to his past? Everything that happens is connected to him. How in the frick do you watch an entire show and miss the central theme of it? Secondary character at best? He's literally the embodiment of the shared black trauma that infuses the show and you missed it completely. White people, I swear.

And so would this show if Lindelof wanted
Point is if “creative can get replaced all the time if it was a hit show” then HBO would’ve just replaced Simon with someone else to continue those shows

A hit show.
Do you read what you type?

Is it really a hit show if half the audience doesn’t care that it won’t be back?
And we’re playing very fast and loose with the term “hit show” here

96% on Rotten Tomatoes, 8/10 on IMDB, 85% on Metacritic... but yeah, no one liked it.

There is nothing left to tell. Why would I want it back? I wish more shows would do this rather than fizzling out over 4 seasons because the show creators are just trying to appease the audience and can't effectively continue the story.

I never really got into it. Wasn’t familiar with the source material.

It was anything but a failure. The fact that Mindhunter and Watchmen are coming to an end in almost the exact same fashion, yet people are quick to jump on Watchmen as being "canceled" while all but one person in here agrees that Mindhunters ended by the choice of the creator, tells you something about the bias that people in here have against Watchmen.

If you don't mind reading a graphic novel, you should really give it a shot. I haven't watched the HBO series, but the graphic is one of my favorite comics.

The original is some of the best comic book stuff out there. But you have to really love comics to get as much out of it as you can. To liken it to another media and genre. Think Unforgiven.
The stuff DC has done since and what HBO put out is basically fan fiction and it's all very hit and miss.
I liked a lot of what they went for the first 3 episodes, missed the 4th came back for Looking Glass and then missed the rest.

Critics loved TLJ and Trainwreck too and anyone can vote on IMDB.
