Baton Rouge aristocracy
I know people who THINK they are part of this.
Sounds like a rather dubious honor to be considered in the BR “aristocracy”.

quote:Partially true. Episcopal isn't as obvious about it as the Lab school though. I mean Gordon Mckernan literally bought the football team while his son was there. This has been talked about on the recruiting board before.
A good bit of Episcopal's tuition is so that tuition can be subsidized for lower income families of athletes
In 10 years the Lab school went from having barely any D-1 athletes to having multiple NFL caliber players.

It's not really a true public school though. Isn't it like 5k/yr?
It's a PUBLIC school. 2/3 of the funding comes from state tax dollars.

How does it compare to the public schools in Mandeville?

It is cheap. That’s about it

Yes this is why so many of the girls are bailing and going to SJA.

Loved it. Without social media, I can tell you what the majority of my class is doing today.
I know a hot little number in your class who became a pediatrician. She married a dude 20 years older than her, though

Because it has become ghetto fabulous

All right. We get it. You don't like the school. Calling it ghetto fabulous is ridiculous though. Take your slant elsewhere.
If you had said that about Bellaire or Scottlandville that would make a little more sense.

I have 2 kids there, and 1 who graduated from Uhigh last year. If you get in, accept the spot. Not only is it a great deal, but it has also been a great experience. We’ve had very few complaints.

I don’t like or dislike the school. I think it is a great deal and a decent school. Much better than the public schools that EBR have to offer. The school situation in BR blows and I would discourage young families from moving here that reason.
That being said, I know several families that have pulled their girls out in high school and sent them elsewhere. A lot of these parents are alum and die hard UHS fans. And gave the reason I stated above.

Its a good school. 6... Is that kindergarten? From what I understand, that is the best chance you will have to get your child in. Beyond that, openings only become available if a kid leaves. So let's say you are trying to get your kid in 1st grade. If there are a few kids who leave after kindergarten then spots become open depending on where you are on the list they might get in.

In 3A. They're part of the reason we have Select/Non-select.
