Any ENT's here? Question about nosebleeds

Totally out of nowhere, I have started having nosebleeds. I have had 4 in about 48 hours. Not just the type where you blow your nose and bleed for a couple minutes, but full-fledged gushing. The second one landed me in the ER since it happened late at night and I had trouble getting it to stop and lost a good bit of blood.
The ER doctor gave me a nasal spray to help lubricate what he thinks is a dry nose and said to see an ENT if I have any more episodes.
Well I have had 2 since. One woke me up this morning. Fortunately it was just a trickle at first, so I didn't lose a ton of blood because I got my nostrils covered.
I'm generally healthy besides the fact I could lose about 20 pounds. Don't smoke, blood pressure always normal, no anemia, etc.
The question is...what would an ENT do or look for to try to solve this problem? I thought chronic nosebleeds were something 8 year olds had, not someone close to 50...

Nope. No AIDS and definitely have never tried cocaine. Try again, please.

It's your heater drying your nose out.

That does remind me though, the ER doc did run blood work on me before I left and everything came back normal, even with the blood loss.

Other conditions that predispose a person to nosebleeds include:
exposure to warm, dry air for prolonged periods of time,
nasal and sinus infections,
allergic rhinitis,
nasal foreign body (object stuck in the nose),
vigorous nose blowing,
nasal surgery,
deviated or perforated nasal septum, and
cocaine use.

I have thought about that....but I use a CPAP to sleep with a humidifier, which is supposed to help.

I’ll tell you the same thing I tell my toddler: stop picking your nose.

Lol I do heed that advice, but my nosebleed this morning started at 6am when I was still asleep with a CPAP mask on.

This won't stop you from getting them, but will stop the bleeding. Put an ice pack on the back of your neck.

Lol maybe I will if I don't get good answers here. The whole issue is bizarre to me and I don't have friends who have had it happen to them, thus my inquiry here to my OT friends

Any bleeding disorders? Family hx? Von Willibrands? Maybe an avm or lesion an ENT will have to buzz..Neosynepherine spray should help, but see a Doc if it continues.

Go to the doctor, not the OT, for this.

frickin' end it already

Put neosporin ointment in your nose. I do this every day and it helps keep the nose from drying out.

You didn't read the whole post. My main question is what an ENT would do or look for to help the situation. If today weren't Saturday I would be seeing one.
