The Pels will definitely get some calls in the next little bit about Holiday, and I think that Denver and Miami will be in those teams. I do not think that Denver or Miami will be able to give us much value though.

What do you think?

Does Jrue want to be traded? If he doesn’t, then I’m against it.

I’m not trading Jrue for a late first. If we get a legit good offer, then yes I would consider it.

Not opposed, but feel his value may be higher in the offseason.

Personally I wouldn't consider it unless Miami puts both Herro and Nunn on the table, which I cant imagine they would. They don't have a 2021 first, which means they can't include 2020-2022 firsts. I just can't see them moving Herro, though.

Can't imagine we want to take on Jamaal Murray's contract, which all but takes Denver off the table unless they're willing to part with Porter.

Personally, I don't think we should consider trading Jrue this year unless someone really blows us away. Something like if the Nets decided to tank the rest of the season and prepare for next season. Would they be willing to part with Dinwiddie and Levert.

A trade centered around Dinwiddie, Levert, and Harris could surely get Jrue, and it would set the Nets up with a big three in 2020 of Kyrie, Durant, and Jrue. That's definitely a championship contender with Jarrett Allen at center.

I’d trade him for a up and coming prospect. Picks means very little to me right now.

We have so many young guys and so many picks upcoming, its hard to imagine a perfect fit, even though I imagine Jrue leaving when his contract is done.

Unless the Nets blow us away with an offer which I highly doubt then no I'm not comfortable trading him during season because he'd have more value in the offseason should he get traded at all.

I'm not convinced he or they want to be traded. I honestly think he wants to ride it because for once you can actually see the forest through the trees with this franchise. I think Jrue could be our Iguodala if he wants to be and that's high praise. Yes, he's 29 but I think he's got a few more years in him which is right when Zion will hitting his stride.

Open to? yes.
Do i want to? not really.

I've mentioned a Denver or Miami trade with Jrue a few times now. If we could get a future first, largely unprotected, much further down the line, i kind of like that idea.

You have to think long term here. What are we doing with Jrue long term? Do we want to keep him after his contract runs out, and for how much? Ingram is getting the max. Both Lonzo and Jrue will need new contracts after next year. Which one we keeping, or will we give them both big contracts?

I think Jrue's value is at an all time high right for teams like Miami and Denver. As i stated in the fake trade thread, Miami can get Jrue, and have more than enough to get DeRozan next year and i think having those 3 guys, who love to penetrate, and they'd still have Bam and probably Duncan Robinson and Nunn, that's a championship level team.
Thing with Miami is the deal probably works a lot better in the offseason, where they can give us their 2020 1st in the trade. They can't trade that pick until they make the pick, b/c they are trading their 21 and 23 first. Maimi is also in the tax right now, and can easily get out of it, which they should, so expect them to make some kind of trade soon.

If they gave us Justice, Herro, Johnson and their '25 first, I'd be happy. I know they say we want to win now and make the playoffs, and Justice is hurt and Herro isn't going to replace Jrue, but that deal makes a lot of sense for our future, and Miami's current situation. I also love the idea of getting Herro and having Redick mentor him. Would have loved that when we drafted Buddy.

All in all, i want to keep Jrue, but if the opportunity is too good, you have to take it. Yeah i want to make the playoffs, or at least get close, but not at the cost of missing out on a really good deal for our future. Jrue is not going to be on this team when Zion is a few years into his max contract.

He can either be our Demar Derozen if a disgruntled star demands out from a team not interested in rebuilding, or he can be our Kyle Lowry and help this team learn to win. You trade him if the right deal comes along, not just to cash out while his value is highest.
