LINK
Wonder why it was on fire? Possibly a missile caused the technical failure?
Extremely horrible for those aboard and their families.
Edit: LINK
Al Hadath making the claim that #Ukraine International Airline #UIA flight number #PS752 B737 that went down in #Tehran #Iran was accidentally shot down by Anti-Aircraft units in the city. Take with a major grain of salt for the time being.
Edit 2: Flight path
Plane was 3 years old
Edit 3: Photos of crash
First photos emerge from site of plane crash near Tehran; there are no indications of survivors
Edit 4: Video from the site
Edit 5: LINK
Speed and altitude graph shows #PS752 transponder stopped six minutes into flight. No erratic flight pattern and no recorded drop in speed or altitude.
If not a transponder failure, whatever happened was sudden and catastrophic.
Edit 6: Video of the crash site that night

That’s not how missiles work. They cause an explosion failure

To my untrained, amateur, eye... it looks like the pilot had some kind of control. At least to the point it wasn't in free fall.
If a it was hit by a missile, I wouldn't expect it to be able to attempt anything close to a gradual descent.

Heat seeker fired by a fighter hitting an engine might do that

Damn, that plane went boom on contact. I wonder if there were any Americans onboard.

Sad. Pray for those people.

That thing was completely on fire. Probably not fully intact on impact.

From the looks of it, I bet they couldn't wait to hit the ground and be dead.

who wants to bet there were "American" passengers on board
Posted on 1/7/20 at 10:27 pm to TigerFanatic99
Probably every Ukrainian that had dirt on the Obama Administration was on board.

Thanks I just updated with a working one

Not necessarily true my friend. A lot of missiles that are heat seeking will detonate right near the exhaust of an engine, causing catastrophic failure of the engine. Maybe the other engine wasn’t hit, and not too much damage was so instantly done that the pilot had time to at least fight it. It is not all Hollywood massive fireball explosions when it comes to anti aircraft missiles.
