No. Our embassy is on Iranian soil. The same embassy that has pushed for exclusively punishing the Iranian people through sanctions, instead of the government. The same embassy that has encouraged aggression against the Iranian people. We do not have a right to an embassy with Iran. After our recent actions, I wouldn’t fault them for closing down that embassy and expelling all diplomats

Is that you you, AOC?

So why did we attack Iraq,
Because they violated the treaties they signed 17 times after the first gulf war and were shooting at our jets? Should we fold like pussies to that?

Undoubtedly yes we should fold at that. It wasn’t worth it. Trillions blown. Thousands of troops dead. Because they shot at us? I’m weighing the two sides and frick it I’d rather be a pussy

You’re right I did, I was going with the conversation and more fixated on him saying that embassies are considered US soil and not paying attention to whether there actually was one in Iran. Point of my posts being no hey aren’t considered our soil.

Congratulations Captain Hindsight. You're quite the decision maker from your couch with little to no real information.

That’s the consensus of most of America that we shouldn’t have gone into Iraq.

I miss the patriotism and people coming together. I don't miss the anthrax, the random sniper(s), or the fear of gathering in public spaces (college football games, etc). Nonstop news on each network-owned cable channel (all of Viacom's channels running CBS, same with ABC and NBC). You couldn't get away from it.

At the time, watching Congress singing God Bless America was cool, and watching Bush at Ground Zero was a morale booster for a lot of people. And I'll never forget U2's halftime show at the Super Bowl, finishing with Bono's jacket having the American flag lining at the end.

I think I get what you mean, but there's no way I'd ever say I miss those days. The world changed, and it hasn't been the same since.

In hindsight and with limited information, sure. But, we'll never know what would have happened had we not gone and some like me recognize that and don't have the hubris to suggest otherwise. You keep typing away all of your so very valuable thoughts on the matter 17 years later and with no pressure on you to be correct.

They invented shite and lied in order to get their war. They weren’t under pressure.

Back when thousands of innocent Americans died? Wtf?

The pain that was required for that feeling you seem to love wasn’t worth it. My dad worked in Ny, was on a flight that morning. I watched the principal pull kids out of class to bring them to their moms and tell them their dads died. Luckily for me mine did not. To wish for that is un-American.

Do you agree with our actions in invading Afghanistan for the purpose of removing the ruling Taliban government in the immediate aftermath of 9/11? Given the unanimous agreement that it was the Taliban who sponsored Al Qaeda in terms of allowing it to operate out of Afghanistan as a "home base"??

Not arguing, but they were trained in Saudi Arabia. Recruited from all over, if I recall.

No, the majority were Saudi nationals. 15 of 19.
