I miss the days after 9/11.
Back when we werent afraid to put America first and go after those who intended to harm us and we damn sure didnt apologize to them.
Back when stores couldnt keep American flags in stock and we sure weren't burning them.
Back when it didnt matter if you were black or white, male or female, adult or child, or Republican or Democrat.
You were an American first and above all.
I'm only 26 years old but man this country has really went downhill in just my lifetime.
Hopefully we can get back to loving America and the liberty she brings.

So why did we attack Iraq, when most of the pilots associated with 9-11 were Saudi?

Frick no. We came together as a nation and collectively handed over our privacy and rights to the government. Huge expansion of the Fed gov. Frick that, I don’t care if people were waiving American flags. They allowed very un-American violations of our rights.

Not arguing, but they were trained in Saudi Arabia. Recruited from all over, if I recall.

Iraq was “finishing” Daddy’s war.

You mean when we made up shite to invade the wrong country?

We burned the frick out of some flags after 9/11. That's part of the reason stores couldn't keep them on the shelves.

This has never been completely true.

You need to decide if the country is better shape than ever because Trump or it's gone downhill further than ever. Both can't be true.

90 plus percent of Americans love America and the liberty she has. Most wish we would stop bringing it to other countries.

I completely agree. Now please tell us when, recently, Iran has attacked us on our soil.

Wouldnt our embassy be considered our "soil"?

You're completely and utterly wrong.

There was an immediate group of rabid psychos claiming Bush orchestrated it. This group and several others had no qualms saying we "deserved it".

On a national level, millions of people were absolutely paralyzed with fear for months, never knowing what godawful horror would be on the news. There were daily updates of dead soldiers on the news for the next 7 years.

On a more personal level, several young men that I knew very well were gripped in a bloodthirsty fervor for payback and enlisted and shipped out. While they were lucky enough to come back, none of them were the same - they have been inexorably damaged by this godforsaken war.

Only our "ally", Saudi Arabia, has done that "recently".

I'm not really talking about the war or the attack itself, I was speaking more to the outswelling of patriotism in the days following.
Most Americans were proud to be Americans in those days and werent apologizing for it.
It was probably more "picturesque" to me since I was so young to be fair though.

Most Americans are proud to be Americans these days, regardless of whether or not they cradle the balls and stroke the shaft of the god emperor.
