My thoughts

So, first off just wanted to say congrats to yall on making it. It's very cool that you guys make it when its new orleans. I think its going to be a hell of a game. The most fun part to me is that the games between two qbs, one of whom is having one of the best college football seasons, if not the best we've ever seen, and the other is considered by many to be the best sure fire nfl prospect since Peyton Manning(dare say it maybe even better) I think people will look back on this game similarly to how people look at Deshaun vs Lamar. (obviously this game means wayyyy more)
I also think that Ohio State and LSU will be the two best teams Clemson has played during this amazing 5 year run. Just some thoughts on what I've read on here. I've seen a lot of posters on here thinking that a loss would "end" Clemson's dynasty, barring a Lawrence career ending injury we atleast have one more year of playoffs. (helps that our schedule is easy) Also this will be the best team yall have faced, but we were better last year. Yall are right that Burrow is gonna move the ball and LSU will probably rack up 400+ yards of offense. I think the key is going to be LSU's red zone offense and whether your d-backs can defend our receivers. OSU had more talent on defense than either of these teams, and lets hope there aren't any cheap shots taken to take out players. If its our best vs your best and our wrs our healthy I think we have too many options on offense for you to "stop" us. However on the flip side we have even worse d-backs while our wr core are pretty even, but we have the advantage of having the better d cordinator. (by far our biggest in game advantage, not dabo) So what I'm getting at is that its going to be an amazing game between two great coaches two future #1 qbs, and two very evenly matched games. I really do think its gonna be one of the best nattys of all time. Lets sit back and just enjoy it, because if Clemson wins its the best 4 year run since Nebraska, and if LSU wins I'd be willing to say its a top 3 college football season of all time.
the one thing i will say is that Clemson does a great job of punishing mistakes, so that will be a key for LSU, any big mistakes we do a great job of capitalizing on. I think yall are the slightly more talented team and then we have a slight edge at coaching... Dont underestimate our slow white guys, i do it all the time, but they aren't that slow and they can ball.
Some questions for yall:
1. how much is your linebacker thats coming back going to play? will he start?
2. What are yall most afraid of will beat you?
3. What matchup are you most excited for?
my2/3 answer for clemson is im afraid we wont focus enough on your rb cuz of all the attention burrow is gonna get, and I'm most excited to see Travis back in New Orleans with a chance to go out a national champion in his childhood state against his childhood team.

No one knows this. He's been practicing with the team so he's in shape. He's a great pass rusher so I'm guessing you'll see him obvious passing downs a bunch.

Don't take this the wrong way. I think the only thing that beats LSU is if LSU plays it's worst game of the year. The offense is just too good to completely shut down.

3. What matchup are you most excited for?
Jefferson on whoever Clemson tries to put on him and Cylde vs that LB.

Debatable... LSU has already beaten Venables in Nola for a title, also.

Lol. Clemson, OU, Georgia, Bama, Florida all would have losses to LSU. And at least a couple were blowouts.

Let's be real.
If LSU wins, they will be crowned the greatest college football team of all-time.

It's tough to label any team this but this 2019 LSU team will certainly have the best resume..... ever.

I doubt he sees a lot of PT if it's a close game. If yall are down by a couple scores in the 2nd half, expect to see him on most downs with his hair on fire.

Personally, the only thing that worries me is Etienne gashing us and we can't stop it.

I would say Clyde vs Simmons, but if Simmons is covering Clyde well, Joe just won't throw that way. So really I'm ready to see whichever DB Joe decides to attack get abused.

Solid evaluation. People seem to be undervaluing Aranda going into this matchup. Aranda and a trending, healthy LSU defense is just as scary as a Venables coached Clemson defense.

I disagree that OSU has more defensive talent than LSU. Other than that, I think your analysis is pretty solid (if difficult to read due to formatting).
Nobody but the coaches know how much Divinity will play. Before the suspension, he was one of our best pass rushers.
That said, the D has been playing the best it has all season the past four games, so it’s possible that he doesn’t play a whole lot (if it ain’t broke...).
Then again, he’s been practicing for the past two months and will be ready if called upon.
The only way I see us losing is if we turn the ball over more than once, miss one or more FGs and/or fail to convert in the red zone.
Through 14 games, LSU has been the best in the country at converting once in the red zone. Hopefully for us that holds true Monday.
Clemson will score. However if LSU gets a lead early and is able to dictate style and tempo, Clemson is in deep trouble. LSU plays aggressive man coverage. We give up some plays here and there, but have two corners with 10 combined interceptions, one of whom led the SEC in pass break-ups.
LSU also forces a lot of 3-and-outs for a team whose defense has been criticized.
My main concern with Clemson’s offense is Etienne as a receiver out of the backfield. Clemson torched OSU the few times they threw to him.

Whatever dude. We’ve got 3 1st round picks in the secondary, no cheap shots needed. LSU will give up a few big plays, but so will Clemson’s DBs (probably more).

Yeah, the marketplace takes exception to this as well. The market says Aranda is the nation’s best DC until someone else eclipses his salary.
Obviously, it’s very much up for debate, and IMO should be close to a wash.

You WR core isn't the best we've seen all year in any category. Speed? Nope. Hands? Nope. Route running? Nope. Physicality? Nope.
All four of those categories are held by Bama, who has what I think will go down as one of the best WR cores in college football history. They scored on a gimik play and late in the game. That's it. I don't see your WRs as being more of a threat than Bama. Sorry.

Any time Clemson is in 3, 4, or 5 wide sets, he'll be in the game.

Lawrence's legs. He better learn to slide through, our LBs and Safeties can lay the fricking wood.

3. What matchup are you most excited for?
Lawrence vs our DBs. If he makes a mistake or forces some balls, they could easily turn into pick 6s. Especially against Stingley.

I pretty much agree with you, OP. Clemson makes a living out of frustrating offenses in the red zone and getting qb's to make a mistake throwing pics by mixing up and disguising coverages. then that team gets off their game and starts playing losing football like Ohio State, making unforced errors. they rely on their talent on offense rather than having an all out assault like LSU does. don't get me wrong, I know you're OC and Lawrence look for mismatches to exploit, but they don't do it on an LSU level.
lsu has not played losing football all year. the few times we make mistakes, we tend to shrug it off. Joe burrow is really something in that regard. he wants to score a td on every possession, but he doesn't force things.
the only way I see the game getting ugly is if LSU scores multiple td's right off and Clemson gets off their game and starts playing losing football. I expect they won't, but will keep their cool. if the defense can't stop the Shoe, then your offense will really have to press.

Situational, supposedly starting on the dime package. Excellent run support.

2. What are yall most afraid of will beat you?
If Clemson where to control the clock with long methodical drives limiting LSU possessions.

3. What matchup are you most excited for?
-CEH out of the backfield for us
-Stingley/Fulton against Ross/Higgins
-LSU Offense v. Clemson Defense in general

I’m most worried about Clemson getting Amari the ball in space. Honestly, he scares me much more than Ross or Tee. I also feel like Lyn-J has a better game than Etienne. Travis’s big games in his career have come against poor teams. K’Von, Simmons, Thomas, and possibly Davis are the biggest threats on D. Skalski is a good instinctive player without elite speed. It’s gonna be a good one.

LSU 2019 is perhaps the “cleanest” football team I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure I can recall a dirty play all year.
We’ve led for all but about twelve minutes this year, so maybe it’s because our guys haven’t been worked up emotionally. More likely though is that our guys are just high character men starting with the coaching staff on down to the trainers.

2. What are yall most afraid of will beat you?
Only turnovers...I predict if Clemson wins, they took a bunch of chances that paid off to force turnovers...ball tackles, jumping routes...if Burrow doesn't look off receivers, Simmons WILL be in on the play...Burrow's honest only real weakness is holding onto the FB while being sacked, and it's still about average when looking at other greats. Burrow really only gets sloppy for INTs in garbage time.
So as above, LSU/Burrow have to do uncharacteristic things to lose this, but IT CAN HAPPEN...I don't think it will, though.
