LSU will probably rack up 400+ yards of offense.

LSU average 556 yards per game, so 400 plus would be like a 20% drop off in production. I would say this unlikely but possible..strange happens in title games

quote:

I think the key is going to be LSU's red zone offense and whether your d-backs can defend our receivers.

LSU is #1 red zone scoring....97% on the season... Clemson is 86%

OSU forced Clemson to punt 7 times. If LSU is that successful this game won't be close.

quote:

However on the flip side we have even worse d-backs while our wr core are pretty even, but we have the advantage of having the better d cordinator. (by far our biggest in game advantage, not dabo)

I guess that's why LSU is paying Aranda 2.5 mill per because he's second best to your DC. ? I don't know... Brent is awesome, has the resume, but Aranda is fantastic as well...

Look LSU wasn't great on D early in the year, but they are balling out right now...we held OU to 220 yards under their season average...take from that what you will. that's about 40% reduction over what they are used to getting per game

let's get something straight here on the WR comparison, your WR's are not in the same class as ours...LSU has 3 NFL guys, you might have 2 ..advantage LSU

not to mention our TE has great hands, blocks well, and our RB catches everything ....these guys are the reason LSU is a tough out regardless of how great a defense is...it's a big wide field, and LSU makes defenses cover the whole thing which is impossible to do when LSU executes

moving on....

Our defensive backs are NFL caliber when healthy....OSU is very talented but LSU is DBU for a reason...we seldom have a down year

we have the Thorpe winner in Delpit, he's finally almost 100%...Fulton is never talked about but he is our best cover guy, with the true Freshman Stingley is a close second. Was named an All American as a true freshman!

quote:

3. What match-up are you most excited for?

the one that Burrow finds most of time and connects...

whatever your Great DC gives LSU, Burrow is going to work into the weak spot...

my only worry is giving up too many big plays....we've had a tendency to do this this year, though the last month, that's been cleaned up

OSU had more talent on defense than either of these teams,

Also, not true. Our defense is loaded with 5* guys. They were banged up and didn’t play to their potential for a part of this season, but they are peaking at the right time, and Clemson will find out just how talented(and physical) they are.

Looking at your defense against other offenses, I think LSU is going to truck them. I do not care what scheme BV has in mind, it will allow your secondary to win against our receivers. He may get a sack or two, but your defense looks very vulnerable to the offense that LSU has run to near perfection all year.

Wait and see what the LSU D does with your offense. I have not been so confident about big games as I have this year. No one will beat LSU.

See you after the game.

this is the most exciting part of the game. Higgins and Ross vs. Fulton and Stingley. Even though clemson will motion, or whatever, to get one of the 2 WR gets away from those 2 CBs.

Can Simmons can guard CEH. I personally think that he is the only one that can guard him. If simmons is not on CEH, the that RB is gonna wear out that defense.

Clemson has good size at CB and will lessen LSU completely dominating what commentators call "50/50 balls". LSU completes an insane amount of those.

A loss would not end Clemson's dynasty, should they lose.

Dabo recruits at a high level and is really hitting his stride as a head coach.

I'm not worried about LSU's offense versus Clemson's defense... I'm worried about Clemson's offense versus LSU's defense.

Clemson has a very capable team, no matter what any armchair coaches say. And they absolutely beat the fricking brakes off of Alabama last year. LSU's coaches and players are very much aware of that, and will hopefully be ready for the challenge of a team that has elevated their game on the biggest of stages with some consistency.

I think LSU wins in my heart. Not sure by how much, but I hope I'm right.

Two things:

First, the matchup for me to watch is the Clemson OL vs the LSU pass rush. In the first half of the OSU game, i didn't think there was anyway Clemson could win as OSU was simply wrecking that OL. Lawrence was getting hit over and over with virtually no time to throw.

I think Etienne will have a very good game as I think he is the best back we have faced all year. If he doesn't get 100 yards, I don't think Clemson has a chance to win.

Finally, in NO way, will LSU ever be called the greatest CFB of all time!!! Their offense might have a claim to the best offense, but the 2000-2001 U of Miami team, was by far a more talented team than this group. Something stupid like 18 first rounders...Fact Check that but its close!!!

Nice post, thanks for contributing to the conversation. Anyone on here who thinks a Clemson loss equals "end" of Clemson's run is nuts (y'all will keep dominating as long as the ACC is as weak as it is). Also, watching Hunter Renfrow ball out taught me not to sleep on Clemson white guys.

I'm sure the Divinity question has been answered multiple times, but as for your other questions:

quote:

What are yall most afraid of will beat you?

The combination of Lawrence and Etienne making plays, keeping drives going, and scoring enough to keep it close.

quote:

What matchup are you most excited for?

The Venables-Ensminger/Brady/Burrow chess match. Really comes down to Burrow, whose ability to process and react has to be on point to avoid turnovers, taking sacks, etc., that can kill drives.

I'm expecting something similar to the Alabama-LSU game this season or the 45-40 or 35-31 games y'all had against Bama. A title game with two great teams deserves to live up to the billing, and I don't think this one will disappoint.

Here's to a great game (and to Clemson coming up a little short at the end).
