re: Has a single Clemson idiot that came to this board pregame came back to take their licks?

most clemson alumni dont go on tigernet, most of those guys are hillbillys that never went to clemson, dont mind them they arent the people that youll meet in person. I think my comment about lsu being here to stay was mistook. LSU is historically one of the best programs ever but to have continued consistent success at the top in college all you need a top coach, my take from the success LSU has had the last two seasons is coach O is one of the top coaches in the country, and is on par with the sabans, dabos, and mac browns of college football. So the only teams in the last 6-7 years that have stayed atop college football is clemson and bama, uga talent wise has been there the last 3-4 years and i envision that the sec will consistently get two teams in the next 4-5 years ( as they should) with lsu clemson and bama being at the top while other programs like osu okie uga psu even florida etc having their years but not the my projected continued success of the next decade

I'm a little surprised with the LSU hate towards Clemson fans on here. As a whole we get along great with other fan bases. I think some of the reason people don't like us is our blatant honesty about football. We know when we are good and we know when we are bad, but as a whole our fan base is ranked the nicest in the acc and one of the nicest in the country, behind those weirdly over the top nice A&M fans. Most clemson fans I was with were congratualating LSU fans, because we konw how hard it is to win the natty, and how good you had to be do what you yall did to us.
We love our team, and have the same attitude as our coach that everything should be celebrated, so some fans might roll their eyes when they see us celebrating an acc championship like its the SEC championship, and thats because in our opinion whats the point of playing the game to not celebrate every win. So, to us we had a great year that ended in a national championship loss, I thought it was a 50/50 game afterwards I realized I was wrong it was more of a 75/25 game. I think the only thing I can say I don't like how our fans are reacting is acting like LSU won't be relevant I think yall have a coach, and a historic program that is here to stay. Clemson keeps reloading through 3 different qbs in the last 5 years and we keep making the playoffs, I really do think LSU will be back even as a non SEC 1 loss champion. But as a whole I think yall play a lot of fan bases way ruder and worse than clemson, and that for some reason because yall beat us you think "we didnt belong" or our gracefullness in defeat is weird... but i promise you guys that if you come to a game in clemson with lsu championship gear youd still be welcomed and given free beer and enjoy a game in the real death valley (sorry had to)
Congrats again I will say I'm glad I found this board I'll root for LSU over the rest of the SEC. Also as a giants fan Odell is the worst, and I understand the mixed feelings yall are deeling with when it comes to him. :( :nana:

most clemson fans are very congratulatory towards lsu, because we know how high of a standard we set, and knew what it would take to beat us, and it took the best team of all time, so with 2 national championships in the previous 3 seasons. In a year we lost our 4 starting defensive lineman + even a backup to the nfl we still returned and made the natty and until the last quarter and a half found a way to play with the best team of all time. So yeah we are sad, but also can appreciate greatness, so all we can do is look towards next year, and hope that Trevor can end his career 15-0, with his lone loss in college coming to the best team of all time. We had a great season and should still celebrate it, and we celebrate it because we know after next year, it could be a long time until we get back, because nothing is guaranteed. I will say im jealous of the schedule lsu gets to play, we tried to schedule top opponents but a&m just happened to be down this year and it stinks that south carolina cant field a semi competitive team, and while you can we get a cake walk to the playoffs (which next year we do) we also never have the chance to have a season like yall do because of how good the sec is. (last year our front 4 would have been fun to try and take on this years LSU team. I hope yall can keep it up cuz i prefer playing yall to bama next year bama vs lsu will be another great one i think. We aren't pats fans we arent gonna cry over a playoff loss, just because weve been great recently, you cant win every year and this year LSU was better, so congrats, but don't knock clemson fans because we are nice about you winning and then being realistic about the future.
(and yes im scrolling through your board wishing I was still celebrating a national championship, not healthy for myself, but what to do with out football for so long... XFL??? hahaa

We all knew it was going to be a toughest task yet, and honestly from a defense perspective I thought we played as best we could. But Joe Burrow capped off the best season I've ever or will ever seen. I thought i'd be more upset losing. We missed some oppurtunities here and there would have loved to give etn the ball more, couple calls didnt go our way, but I dont think any of it would matter cuz yall had a qb that could place 50 yard passes into his recievers hands like it was a handoff. I knew what we were about to face, and we did our very best to slow it down, but it really was an unstoppable force. I'm more in awe of the season the 12 tds in the playoffs etc that LSU just came out of nowhere and had. we've been to the natty now 4 of the last 5 years and lost in the semis to the eventual winner the other year, and the only team i can even think would have a chance to hang with this osu team is last years clemson team but i still dont know. This lsu team was head and shoulders above anything we faced in the last 5 years, and yall enjoy it bask in, and love it. To be honest i cant speak for all clemson fans but the majority i watched with just kinda shrugged and said oh well its tough to beat one of the best of all time. Yall ruined Trevor's chance for the perfect career, really amazing what burrow did im kinda rambling just my thoughts on here just because I know how good this clemson program is and while are probs the best of the last 5 years we just ran into a buzzsaw, the people saying you wont be back next year I think are dumb yall have a coach maybe youll have to actually grind out some wins with your defense like yall used to, but i'd love to have a rematch its a lot more fun to play coach o and burrow than it was cranky saban. hell of a season nothing but love for my tigers, and nothing but awe for the season i just saw from yalls tigers, hopefully see yeah guys next year

Clemson's potential weekend
Posted by giantssbxlii on 1/12/20 at 4:38 am
yall have the chance for glory in your de facto home city. Clemson has the chance to have one of the best sports weekends as fans ever. 0-59 @chapel hill no longer. We get to watch our former qb and natoinal champion go head to head with mahomes for the right to host the afc championship, and then we try to become only the 4th team in college football history to win 3 of 4 nattys, and there is no worthier challenger than the "best team of all time" . Last year we heard ALabama was the most talented team of all time(which I never agreed with), this year we hear LSU is the most accomplished (which I probably agree with). Oohhhhh i cant wait yall, good luck, hope everyone is nice, and lets hope for a hell of a football game, and let the glory of God decide the game. :nana:

Posted by giantssbxlii on 1/10/20 at 4:23 pm to minvielle
i mean top 10 qbs in the country period not nfl not college not afl xfl free agent...
Also yall do know Trevor hasn't lost a game since high school. If you think Burrow and Trevor arent comparable then you just don't know football. Has Burrow had the better season? Of course. From a talent perspective and how they prepare and go out and beat their opponents because of talent and decision making they are two of the best to ever do it in college. yall remember that Trevor has put up 44 points in the natty last year ( and would have been in the 50s had we not decided to not score on our final 10 min drive) yall should think burrow is the goat, because yall are having an amazing season. But dont underestimate a guy that has only lost 2 fooball games since week 1 of his freshman year of hs

As a clemson fan ive seen a great qb come through Clemosn not so long ago in Deshaun Watson. Watson is now considered a no doubt top10 qb in the nfl, and I'd put him at 7 or 8 in my rankings. Dabo said Watson was the best qb and leader he had ever coached. Watson was amazing, the scary thing that all us Clemson fans quickly realized last year was that we followed up a "once in a generational leader and talent" with an even better leader and qb. (No knock on Watson I love him still my favorite player to ever come through Clemson) I think LSU fans, if im not mistaken, understand what I'm talking about when it comes to Burrow. Now I've only see Joe play 4-5 times this year, but I got the same kinda feeling when I watched him play. (different than a tua or fields who are great college qbs, but not yet great qbs) The best 4 college qbs imo the last 5 years have been in no order, Lamar, Deshaun, Burrow, Trevor. It was too bad lamar was on a poo poo team.
However my question to you guys is do you think Burrow and Trevor are already top 10 qbs in the country? I've seen how both take over games, and make the right decision 99% of the time. Both will be the #1 pick in the draft, Trevor is 3 years younger than Joe, but similar game experience. I'm telling you guys the two qbs going out there Monday night along with Lamar and Deshuan are going to tear up the nfl for years to come. We all just have to sit back and relax and enjoy the greatness.
To answer my own question I have them sitting at 9 and 10 when compared to current nfl qbs. But from a potential wise to start a franchise around I can only think of 1 or 2 qbs Id rather have. This just rarely happens in NC game. Our first one of our recent run was Coker vs Deshuan then deshuan vs hurts then trevor vs tua ( ive always though tua is overrated maybe you lsu fans have thought on that)
anyway you can't hate a guys like Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence. Though theyve had different paths and different journeys they both do things the right way, and set a good example for their communities and young children that root for them

saw that yall put the rankings with the gap
for the lat 3-4 years (barring the kelly bryant year) the "gap" had looked like this:
Clemson-Alabama
Everyone else
Then the natty happened and no one had seen alabama get beat down like that since i think yall stomped them in like 2003. (sorry might have the year wrong a little before my time). Then yall and OSU happened. Bama i think going into the year was clearly 1b but they just never got going this year, and yall beat them handedly ( i was rooting for yall), but it was a good attempt at a comeback by tua, and ended up being a close game, but you guys proved that you had closed the gap. That is the only game on your schedule that compares to the Clemson team you guys are playing. We are a slightly better team then who yall played that day. Slightly better qb slightly better rb, they have slightly better wrs, and oline but we have the slightly better special teams and defense. Yall closed the gap on Bama, to think you have created this huge gap above clemson is ignorant, yall are in for a dog fight.

tigersnet usually insane so i never post i just was interested to see if yall were just as cocky as tiger net and i find the whacky fans on both side don't dissapoint. my prediction is a shoot out baby trevor vs burrow maybe whoever gets the ball last win... who knows

Clemson as a whole got off to a slow start to the season. this happens to many reigning national champions. If you watch Trevor's first few weeks he was attempting to make throws that were just not possible, he got a little to cocky and threw a bunch of ints. Then he went back to doing the basics and hasnt thrown an int since that unc game. Stats don't always point towards the better qb. Burrow has had the better year no doubt, but imo (obviously biased) Trevor is the slightly better qb, neither means anything in national championship game. Clemson lost to Coker in national championship but beat hurts and tua. Intersting stat about Clemson is that since 2015 they are 22-0 against undefeated teams. Don't expect to walk all over lil ole clemson. Oohhh i wish it was monday oohhhhh baby
My thoughts
Posted by giantssbxlii on 1/7/20 at 11:12 am
So, first off just wanted to say congrats to yall on making it. It's very cool that you guys make it when its new orleans. I think its going to be a hell of a game. The most fun part to me is that the games between two qbs, one of whom is having one of the best college football seasons, if not the best we've ever seen, and the other is considered by many to be the best sure fire nfl prospect since Peyton Manning(dare say it maybe even better) I think people will look back on this game similarly to how people look at Deshaun vs Lamar. (obviously this game means wayyyy more)
I also think that Ohio State and LSU will be the two best teams Clemson has played during this amazing 5 year run. Just some thoughts on what I've read on here. I've seen a lot of posters on here thinking that a loss would "end" Clemson's dynasty, barring a Lawrence career ending injury we atleast have one more year of playoffs. (helps that our schedule is easy) Also this will be the best team yall have faced, but we were better last year. Yall are right that Burrow is gonna move the ball and LSU will probably rack up 400+ yards of offense. I think the key is going to be LSU's red zone offense and whether your d-backs can defend our receivers. OSU had more talent on defense than either of these teams, and lets hope there aren't any cheap shots taken to take out players. If its our best vs your best and our wrs our healthy I think we have too many options on offense for you to "stop" us. However on the flip side we have even worse d-backs while our wr core are pretty even, but we have the advantage of having the better d cordinator. (by far our biggest in game advantage, not dabo) So what I'm getting at is that its going to be an amazing game between two great coaches two future #1 qbs, and two very evenly matched games. I really do think its gonna be one of the best nattys of all time. Lets sit back and just enjoy it, because if Clemson wins its the best 4 year run since Nebraska, and if LSU wins I'd be willing to say its a top 3 college football season of all time.
the one thing i will say is that Clemson does a great job of punishing mistakes, so that will be a key for LSU, any big mistakes we do a great job of capitalizing on. I think yall are the slightly more talented team and then we have a slight edge at coaching... Dont underestimate our slow white guys, i do it all the time, but they aren't that slow and they can ball.
Some questions for yall:
1. how much is your linebacker thats coming back going to play? will he start?
2. What are yall most afraid of will beat you?
3. What matchup are you most excited for?
my2/3 answer for clemson is im afraid we wont focus enough on your rb cuz of all the attention burrow is gonna get, and I'm most excited to see Travis back in New Orleans with a chance to go out a national champion in his childhood state against his childhood team.
