The Bulldogs are expected to grant Evans an unconditional release. That will allow Evans to explore other options. Other schools are prohibited from contacting Evans while he’s bound by an NLI, per NCAA regulations.

The five-star running back cannot sign another NLI during this recruiting cycle, according NCAA rules, which means Evans will verbally commit to his next school with no official paperwork tying him to that program. A similar situation occurred in 2018 with Ale Kaho and Washington. Kaho signed an NLI with the Huskies but never actually enrolled with the school. That August the Huskies granted him an unconditional release and soon after Kaho enrolled at Alabama without penalty.

Evans will be free to enroll anywhere he wants and will be eligible to play next season with a full release. It’s unclear if Evans will be an early enrollee at his next stop as he previously planned.

First time I've actually seen this corroborated outside of message board hearsay.

I would doubt it, since GA didn’t accept his NLI.

Litmus test from 247 posts indicates A&M. He’s a mess, totally makes sense as a take for Jimbo. Not even Kirby could pinch his nose hard enough...

Let's hope we get a verbal from Gibbs so we don't have to worry about that headache

I haven't seen all of these details included in any post, only rumors and some false information. ie: some posters have said that he would loose a year of eligibility or have to sit out a year.

So he can continue the soap opera, switching his commitment whenever he wants up until the day that he enrolls somewhere.

Well this explains that little dog and pony show we saw with Deion Sanders. He was begging UGA to keep him. For UGA to catch a big fish like this and then voluntarily throw him back, that speaks volumes.

Doesn't sound like a one team, one heartbeat type of player. Sounds like some headcase you'd find on a desperate team like A&M.

He should go somewhere up north like Wisconsin or Nebraska.

here's a cut, copy, paste from this same subject

..... " Here’s the skinny on Zach Evans. Compounded with off the field character issues, the kid doesn’t have the acceptable ACT scores to get into college.

Evans screwed up and waited until 12/14/19 to take the ACT for the first time. He did sign his LOI with UGA on 12/20/19. UGA wisely knowing that Evans had no ACT score to even look at, they held on to LOI and told Evans they weren't submitting until the ACT scores were back on 12/26/19. They came back too low. UGA chose not to submit because until he can re-test and get scores up he's a non-qualifier. Problem is the next ACT testing period is on 2/8/20. Test scores will not be available until 2/26/20, 3 weeks after the second period NSD on 2/5/20.

Evans’ LOI to UGA is now void. Georgia can move on and fill their class with kids who qualified. Evans has to take the ACT again and pray he can get academically eligible. Schools that have not filled their scholarship allotment will be taking a risk by accepting Evans' LOI on 2/5/20. Very good possibility Evans will have to go JUCO to get his grades in order.

Evans should have listened to his HS guidance counselors and taken the ACT on the earlier testing dates of 9/14/19 and/or 10/26/19..... " ……

Remember the TD Moton recruitment and grades ? Somehow at the last minute, Summer time, Moton passes the ACT and signs with A&M. I can see the same thing happening here. If Evans has an entourage of shady people giving him bad advice, he needs to get away from HOU and find a coach that will be a positive role model. This would be a huge risk for LSU based on the kids' actions in HS. IMO, not worth it, sign a kid who is coachable and follows direction. Winning teams have great chemistry, we don't need an Antonio Brown type attitiude
