There are so many good late round RBs this year. Hubbard, Edwards-Helaire, Perine, Cam Akers, AJ Dillon.

1. Hire a new defensive coordinator who holds his players accountable for executing the scheme and emphasizes physical play. We have a lot of talent on defense outside of free safety

2. Let the sorry williams boys in the secondary walk

3. Sign the best free agent at free safety and draft the best receiver available with the first pick, best guard with second pick

4. Suggest pete carmichael call the games offensively.

Unless Brees signs for much less than his current deal I let him walk. Roll with Teddy and Taysom. Draft a QB in the mid to late rounds.

Trade Kamara- His head was never in the game this year and plays around too much. Losing Ingram was a disaster.

Find a D-Coordinator with some balls.

Cut Peat. He's been a weak link on the O-line for years.

Sign Jamal Adams

Bring in 2 LBs that can cover a tight end and hit.

Get a pass rush. We haven't had one since the Dome Patrol

Too many areas of weakness to address. Possibly time to scrap it and start over. Almost every position group has a glaring weakness.

The interior OL must be fixed. Never seen defense stand up defenders over Guards and rush the passer like Vikings did. Thats pretty embarrassing.

LB upgrade needed. Klein and Keke kinda got exposed on stretch runs by Cook.

WR2 needed. CB and S always needed.

Accept that Brees is only elite with an elite o line at this stage. If he stays, o line is the priority.

Find a big bodied beast WR for 8yd routes. Speedy “take the top off” wr’s not of value with Brees.

All starts with QB. I love Drew, as a fan of the Saints I cannot thank him enough for what he did for our team and our city. He will go down as the best Saints player ever, period, but his time has come. His contract is voided, let him walk. For what he's got left in the tank is not worth the contract.

Let Teddy test FA to set value. Re-sign Taysom and give him the opportunity to compete. If we bring Teddy back based on money (as GM I can't see paying him $20+M) and make it an open competition. If Teddy gets big time money elsewhere then let him go and draft a QB in 1st or 2nd, and look at a veteran backup like Dalton or Mariotta.

RB: Trade Kamara. Disappointing year not just statistically, but also his body language, plus impending huge contract. Always decent vet RBs to bring in plus heavy RB draft

WR: For the love god sign a key FA WR and look to draft, we need to bring a whole new crop. Ginn can walk, Trequan will have to earn his spot

TE: Cook came on strong, but he's not a young guy. Hill is still a darn good TE2. Look for a young guy that can push Hill for backup with better receiving skills

OL: Let Peat walk, insert Easton. Draft/sign another top backup G like we did with Easton, possibly T as well depending on how they feel about Omameh in practice as the swing T

DE: Can't ever have too many pass rushers, but we have a good set with Jordan/Davenport/Hendrickson/Edwards/Granderson

DT: Draft/Sign a top guy here. Tuttle was arguably our best DT this year. Not sure Onyemata's contract status but if he's a FA I likely let him walk, I think he's underperformed. Hopefully Rankins comes back to form, but that's 2 years in a row now he's hurt

LB: Draft/sign top guy here too. Outside of Davis they can all be upgraded. Alonso was good. Klein is smart but slow. Anzalone is good but injuries

CB: Okay here with Lattimore/Jenkins/CGJ (unless you move CGJ to Safety) PJ can walk. Maybe re-sign P-Rob depending on $, but he's guaranteed nothing

S: Re-sign Bell, let Williams walk or possibly trade him depending on his contract status

In order: WR/DT/LB/S/CB/TE

As much as I love Brees I think it’s time for a change. I would try and move towards a run heavy team since you have the QB built for it.

Offense
Taysom- Starter
Pick up a stud TE through draft or FA
Solidify the O line
Pick up a good blocking / possession receiver

Defense
CB
LB

The following is just for fun, while the pain eases... but I have to admit I might actually watch if they do it

Brees retires, or wants too much and we let him go.

We say frick it, draft Jaylen Hurts, and "start" him.
Now, don't lose your mind, we also go 2 Tight End system, and Taysom Hill is one of those.

You play both Hill and Hurts every down, with Hill moving over to TE at times, Hurts splitting out wide at times. Sometimes even line up with one, then shift to the other. Move players all over the field, drive the defense nuts trying to key in on what we're doing. Kamara and Thomas would be the only guys you don't think will actually throw a pass, but frick it, work a few of those plays in too.

Payton gets to dust off the ancient football playbooks of the 40's, which would infuriate everyone.

Do that a year or so, and then find another pocket passer.
