How long do you think the break should be?

It gives both teams more than a week to install gameplans and an extra week to heal after a semifinal game which benefits LSU enormously this year.

They want the healthiest possible team playing for the championship ship.

A week for practice and a week for media obligations.

It’s just how the schedule worked out this year. After the semi-finals flopped when scheduled on Dec 31, they switched to playing on the semi’s on the closest Saturday to Dec 31. So, now we’re stuck with waiting this long.

TV ratings

if you remember, they tried to put the semi's on NYE and lost their viewership by half. I forgot what podcast I was listening to, but for this year they were able to move the semi's up a few days to put them on a saturday, but were unable to move the championship game for some reason. The games, times, locations are set years in advance, dont want to compete with NFL and playoffs.

This year is supposed to be an anomaly

I hate how late it is. Kids start back to school on the 6th and add in that it's on Monday which means 2 extra days off work. I was still willing to do it and still might for me and the wife. If tickets will get a little lower that is. $1000/ticket is too steep considering we're coming from Atlanta. Way too much time off anyway for the bowl games.
