That's true, but I think there's also a private business called DISA that likes to play with your pee.
Anyway, I'd say just get another job, but DISA is so big that your buddy may be blacklisted out of the oil patch / paper mill sector.

He’s done with any company that requires DISA until he gets it cleared up. It’s been a while, but I’m pretty sure he will have to go to a drug program and jump through quite a few hoops.
I used to work for a large oilfield service company as a recruiter. It used to amaze me the amount of guys with “professional” positions on a platform who would fail drug screens at the point of hire.
Most times they were leaving a current job to come to work for us to get on a better contract offshore so they knew what was at stake. Sure enough , they’d piss hot, lose out on the new job they were trying to get, and lose their current job at the same time. Idiots.
