This is for recruiting, this is for next year, this is as Saban said "to get that Alabama factor back."
Shite, they lose to Michigan and they take another step back in the public's perception...after the blowout by Clemson last year and missing the playoffs this year. This game is huge for their maintaining what is slowly slipping away.
As for the Utah game? Utah was the better team. And Alabama wasn't even the modern Alabama yet. This replayed myth that Alabama didn't care about being in the fricking Sugar Bowl is tired and lame. It's not like they were playing in the Poulen Weed-Eater Bowl.
You build your program by winning big bowls and you maintain your program by winning big bowls against other Conferences.
There is no doubt that Saban wants to show the world Alabama is still Alabama by whipping them far worse than Ohio State did.

I think bama routs Michigan but bama isn’t still bama regardless. This is the worst defense from Saban I have seen since his 1st season, with a field full of 5 stars and his QB next year is known for pick 6 throws
