My four year old son just asked, “dad, why is that man wearing a dress?”

Watching the NYE stuff on ABC and I’m fairly certain there wasn’t a single straight man on the screen for five to ten minutes. My son then asks “dad why is that man wearing a dress?”.
I looked at my wife and she was as speechless as I was. I didn’t know what to say and it felt like an eternity went by as I tried to figure out the appropriate response.
As a straight man, I don’t want my son to believe that’s normal. I also don’t want him - if homosexuality really is “determined at birth” - to feel like I won’t love him if he does turn out to be gay. However if I have a choice, I’d like him to be straight as an arrow.
Ultimately I took a leap of faith and responded with “because he’s a girly man and he’s being silly”. My son accepted that answer and continued to play.
It pisses me off that in this day and age I have to address shite questions like that from my impressionable son. I can’t be the only dad here who feels like this.
I can’t wait until he turns 14 so I can take him hunting.
Before it comes up, yea you damn right I’m mad and I’m an old man. Get off my lawn!

Society is slowly molding subsequent generations into gender fluidity. Your son will prefer wearing a dress to hunting by the time he is 14

What made him think it was a man?

Just let your boyfriend address it next time

Yeah man, like I said in another thread, I stopped watching NYE stuff years ago because “pop culture” is disgusting.

What? 14?
I just took my 5 year old daughter hunting.
Enjoy seeing your son in a dress on tv one day.

Ive been pissed about this topic.
If your gay cool i dont care but there is no reason to promote homosexuality the way entertainment does.
There is a cartoon monster house and at the very end the older brother of the bestfriend says hes a gay and hugs his boyfriend out of no where. It wasnt the theme it was extremely uncomfortable to have my 5 year old at the time ask why are 2 boys hugging like that. I turned it off and acted like i didnt hear it.
