looking for something that will dvr stuff from antenna(local tv).
philo is great for normal stuff, but some stuff the OL watches is on broadcast tv, and would like it dvr'd, so she can watch another time.

Tablo, Amazon Recast, Tivo and HD Homerun are all good options.

Pretty sure you can run the cable from the antenna to some adapter to your plex server and record from there.
That assumes you have plex set up. I think it would be the cheapest option

I’ve been really happy with OTA - HDHomeRun - Local Network - Channels DVR.app running on a computer (or NAS if preferred).
If Channels.app is installed on iPhone/AppleTV (possibly Android as well?) you can then access your OTA on these devices.
ALSO, you can add other channel sources with “TV Everywhere” access such as Cox and/or Hulu Live TV, etc to Channels.app to DVR and watch shows from these other sources all in one easy location.

I hate to admit it but I love my TiVo. Had it for years and just upgraded to bolt with lifetime all in service. Deal ended Dec 30th though.

Are Tivos wifi now? I enjoy how I can hide my Table in the attic with the antenna and watch my local stations with no wires going into my tv. Probably my favorite thing.

I actually run both Plex and Recast. Both work great.

The Recast has developed a problem. When you try to delete a recording or change your recording schedule, I now get an error message that I’m not connected to the network, when I am connected to the network.
After researching this appears to be a common issue for Recast owners. For me, it is a new problem, and there isn’t a working solution. It has to be a software problem that Amazon is in no hurry to repair. Loved the recast until this issue popped up. Now it is useless as a DVR.
