I’m sure most of the older PT baws knew who Don Imus was, he paved the way for radio personalities like Howard Stern. I use to watch his radio show that was simulcast on FBN and MSNBC.....Imus was a very gifted talent and he conducted some great interviews with a wide spectrum of celebrities....including Donald J Trump. The man had a very quick wit and he made me and a lot of other Americans laugh every weekday morning.
Imus was also a very giving person, he opened a ranch in New Mexico for children with cancer and he and his wife gave much of their own money to keep the ranch open.
RIP I MAN!

I didn't watch him on TV but all of us radio dj's knew about him back in the late 60s. I loved his bit about 'Church of the Gooey Death'. Don't know where you could find it on the net.
It was then, around 1969, that my program director said: "Zach, someday radio will have stations with no music. Just talk." I thought he was nuts.

That’s classic shite right there^^^^ but who knew so many Americans would listen to some dude on the radio just having fun. Rush says thank you I Man.

His old sidekick shows up on fox sometimes.

I remember him getting in trouble around 2004-05 for calling a female college basketball team a “bunch of nappy-headed hoes.”

If he had had his sidekick making boombox noises and called it "rap" he would have been good.

He was great. Fun fact, his brother Fred Imus wrote the Merle Haggard song, “Silver Wings.”

Great dude that was solid entertainment. The work that he did with kids at his ranch will go muted which is a shame.

Fred was one of my favorite guests on Imus In The Morning.....I think Fred had a radio gig playing old school C&W music in either AZ or NM.

Rutgers. To be fair, that was a rough group of girls. Ratchet, I believe is what kids say today.

I know it’s not PC, but the UConn team that year had a lot of pretty ladies of all races. Rutgers not so much. They just looked a littl rougher in general.
Terrible way to say it and I hate that he’ll be remembered for that over his actual career.

Not meaning to be contentious, but Merle wrote Silver Wings while on a flight from Arizona to L.A., seeing the sun glistening off the wing tips of the jet, he thought, what a nice premise for a song.

Wow 21 years ago msnbc had Imus pushing conservative stuff. That was awesome. I never really appreciated the guy but he paved the way for today’s heavy hitters, rush, levin, Hannity, etc.

Yesterday while watching some YouTube vids this one popped up with Imus and Glenn Beck from June of 2017. Beck calls Imus up for an interview on his radio show....I fricking nearly choked out laughing at Imus working Beck over on his own radio show.........this is the I Man at his best.
Beck calls Imus and gets worked over on his radio show.
