People still wear watches?
Exactly.
I haven't worn a watch in four years.

Accessories are for women
jk buy what you want
I personally can not stand to wear a watch

please do tell me why the crappy movement in a rolex is so special? All the used jewelry shops have countless rolexes sitting around, go in there and ask for something like a patek nautilus and nobody has one.
Sorry if you're going to pay big money its all about the movement.
Come at me

They really are. Vanity items like expensive watches are sorta un-masculine.
Whenever i think of something cheesy like a rolex watch, i also think pinky ring and heavy cologne.

Having destroyed a series of seikos, and a seamaster... I've resigned myself to the fact that Casio is the only option I should wear if I'm not in a suit.
I'm just too damned rough on watches.

you don't wear a Rolex to tell time, you wear one to remind the peasants that they are peasants

odd bc wearing a rolex means you are a peasant.
It's like the guys who buy a mercedes E class and think they have money.
Whatever floats your boat I guess.

I own one watch that my wife bought me as a wedding gift. I think it's in my dresser drawer. It's a Movado.
I'll own a Rolex in about a year, though.
Once they get older, I'll make my sons battle for which one they inherit. Then I'll end up giving my daughter the Rolex either way.
Life is fun.

I’ve a Datejust and wear it when dressing up. But daily a Squale vintage military 30 ATM. It’s indestructible and keeps just as good a time as my old Sub.
I have a friend with a Patek Aquanaut, and that’s the Mack Daddy if you can afford it. Very low-key, and unless someone knows what it is, they have no idea. Super cool.

Sea Dweller. I’m with the some others, “worth it” is a relative term and its all about personal preference. Like Obtuse said, they hold their value better than any other watch.

I am picky about showing my Daytonas on the internet for several reasons.
Most of the rest of my accumulation is in this picture.

Buy an Apple Watch for the price of a Rolex Maintenace fee and live happy.

Look, if you want to "remind the peasants that they are peasants". Then you're gonna have to do alot better than putting on some greasy pawnshop rolex. I mean who's gonna get close enough to you or wrist to frickin' notice?
For all I know, that watch you're wearing was won out of a Chuck E Cheese claw machine.

I wear a G Shock for work, and that's it. Only because I have to. I don't buy super expensive watches just to look at. I hate jewelry.

got a couple for the wife and i. rolexs are mechanical self winders and because of that every 4-5 years they need a factory cleaning and adjustment for about 500$. while a local watch guy could do the same for less, Rolex will not service watches that have been serviced by non Rolex personnel and they employ markets to verify
Service interval for post 2016 Rolex is now 10 years and Rolex will service watches that have previously been serviced by independent watchmakers. While they have reduced the number of parts accounts in recent years they still provide 1000s of indys with parts.

the thought of buying a rolex from a pawn shop had literally never occurred to me before reading it here. Sounds like something a peasant would suggest.
