...

From the Advocate:
quote:

Clyde Edwards-Helaire's availability in the Peach Bowl appear more likely after comments made by LSU offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger on Tuesday.
"I expect him to play," Ensminger said when asked about if he expect the Tigers' top rusher to play. "That's just my opinion."

Just because he’s “available” doesn’t mean he plays. You know they’d love to win this one without him and let him rest up and be as close to 100% as is possible for the title game

So you saying the Lsu coaches don't have confidence in the healthy LSU backs to get the job done?? Well damn why didn't they recruit some elite running backs like Clemson and Alabama did if LSU has zero confidence in the backup from what u posting. That still doesn't tell me evidence that ensminger or coach O said anything bout Clyde playing. They said he is getting better and why not save the guy until need Clyde.

Hoping that a starter is healthy enough to play does not equal we recruited terribly at that position and have no confidence in back up players.

Sheesh, where do you guys come from?

I think he’ll dress and be available but will only be used if needed. Maybe if it’s a close game at half, they put him in the 3rd qtr for a spark. But, best case scenario, LSU goes up a couple touchdowns early and you don’t need him. Could you imagine the melt on here if he tweaked something or aggravated something in a game where LSU was up a couple touchdowns and then couldn’t go or be effective in the title game?

I think Clyde will be available to set foot on the field in a role to keep OK off balance. He will be used to create a huge distraction. I DO NOT think you'll see the Clyde of Alabama/SECCG caliber. However, you might see it in the NC game.

Conventional wisdom says a little Clyde is better than no Clyde at all.

Please let him sit out.

LSU will roll OU without him. We need him in the national championship game to be as healthy as possible.

But he won’t unless the unimaginable happens, they won’t risk losing him for the next one unless they have too. In my most humble opinion

So do you let Clyde play in his normal block/run/catch rolls if he's one step away from injuring the hammy again when added rest (JAN13) would ensure the chances of full recovery? Do we play Russian Roulet with our All-SEC RB without a 100% clearance from the trainers and doctors.... and Clyde himself??? You're talking about going from crutches & scooters to full-speed in a matter of days. Hmmm....

If he CAN play then great. Having him there and available is what we need but id like to see him rest up and remain on stand by for the majority of the game, or until if/when he may be 100% necessary. Best case scenario = we stomp OU's arse in with Clyde on the sidelines ready to go at a moments notice, but not ever having to play. Honestly id love to see that. You know the OU fans are predicting a major advantage right now. They must be punished.

I bet you couldn’t even name Etienne or Harris’ backups without looking it up! LSU recruits the RB position much better than Clemson. Go look at the past rankings at that position if you don’t believe me.
