I hear it is beautiful but as you will freeze your balls off. you will probably get better response on the travel board.

Went to Yellowstone in winter. 90 miles on a snow mobile. Everything was white and saw a few buffalos and old faithful. So cold.

A good bit of it will be closed. The amount open in winter is not nearly as much as during the season. Look them up and maybe call to see what you will get for yoru travel dollar.

I made a day trip over from San Francisco when I had a free day. It sucked. I couldn't see anything due to it snowing.

I went in late Jan/Early Feb last year... don't remember the exact date. I don't know if it was unseasonably warm/dry, but the park was accessible, relatively busy, and snow/ice wasn't really an issue. The canyon floor was open but trails to the top were closed in the winter. Nevada falls was accessible if you were willing to hike across some slick spots. I would definitely recommend it if you don't think you'll have another chance. They also have wintertime activities like snowshoeing and a nearby ski resort.

I did in 2016. Went during winter break while at LSU. It was really nice, but I think we got incredibly lucky. Like others have said, a lot of the Park was closed down but there’s still plenty to see. Remember to buy cheap tire chains as they’re required. The reason we got lucky though is a week later a giant snowstorm blew through and closed down the entire park (and every surrounding park) for the week. So proceed with caution.
