Can someone expound more? I thought he only received a couple of offers, one being Ohio State.

Per this list, he was offered by Nebraska, Ohio State, Michigan, Virginia Tech, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Maryland, Minnesota and a bunch of others.

There’s “offers” and then there’s offers

Joe's childhood dream was to play QB at Nebraska where his father and 2 older brothers played. Even as a legacy, NEB never even offered him a scholarship, otherwise he would have signed in a heart beat. His goal was to win a NC as a starting QB. After realizing this wasn't gonna happen at tOSU, he sat down with his family, discussed his best options to win a NC, and decided to transfer since he still had 2 yrs left to play without having to sit out (graduated college in 3 yrs).

Some of those schools may have never offered him until he entered the transfer portal

LSU offers over 700 kids around the country. But they only “offer” about 50.

When you hear he didn’t have offers, he was referring to after his junior year. He said at that time his only offer was his dad’s school.

It adds up with the dm he sent that guy asking for advice on camps and how to get noticed. That was his jr year I believe.

There’s a bunch of recruits that will have Bama/LSU/USC/Florida State etc all listed as their offers on rivals and then come signing day they sign with Wyoming.

Not because they chose Wyoming over those schools, but because those aren’t real offers

Joe is on record , which is true, that he only had one D1 offer after his junior year of high school- Ohio University- where his dad was in the staff.

He wanted an offer from Nebraska where he was a legacy, and their coach Bo Pelini did not recruit Joe (Bo is an OSU grad)
Tim Beck was also on the Nebraska staff as OC and QB coach and ignored Joe on a visit

Herman worked his arse off to convince Meyer to take Joe- Fickell was also working Urban he knew Joes talent

Joe finally got the offer

Irony- Herman was gone and his replacement at OSU to be position coach?
Tim Beck

That’s some shite for Joe to go thru- the coach in his corner is gone, and is replaced by someone who basically blew you off on a recruiting trip.

I scouted Joe for a couple seasons when he was in HS - finally played them in the regionals and he kicked our arse
Best QB talent ever in Ohio

Praise the Lord for Coach O, Coach Busch, O’s son (O told the story his son watched Burrow play his last spring game as a Buckeye where he outplayed Haskins handily- told his dad),
the entire program...

No one should down play Joes story because this is not made up, everything from his recruiting to the town where he grew up..

He is the All American kid inside out who could do it all - kept his nose clean and worked his arse off

It would only be fitting for LSU to be playing the Buckeyes in New Orleans for the natty

damn whoever writes that script has academy award written all over it!

That list is completely wrong. Check 247 for the correct info. Nebraska never offered him

According to 24/7 and Joe Burrow, he did not have an offer from Nebraska

I'm from Athens. Burrow basically had every school after him. Tom Herman recruited him pretty early. Ohio State offered him after Alabama came to Athens

I was on the Nebraska message board several months ago, and originally the board members didn't realize that Nebraska didn't offer Joe and that that hurt him and his family. When OSU offered Joe then committed to OSU. A Nebraska poster did additional research and found that after there was a coaching change at Nebraska, the new coach offered Joe. By that time, he was firm with OSU.
