ESPN radio "Anytime you see two grown men crying in sports, something special is going on"

On ESPN radio they were describing the emotion displayed during Joe' Burrow's Heisman speech by Coach O and Joe Burrow. Noting that anytime you see two grown men crying in sports, something special is going on. Was listening on the radio while driving, I almost started crying again!

That was the first time all year that Joe's "steely" composure has cracked. I loved it...it showed he really is human.

Coach O was bursting with emotion also it was about that time when someone cut the onions at my house.

I kept wondering....as steely ice cold as this young man has been all year, would this be the moment that it finally overtakes him.
Maybe 10 seconds in and I was crying with Joe Burrow.

When two grown men are staring at each other and trying to not cry in pure admiration and respect...

Rewatched it just now.
Joe is emotional at first, then recovers some and even smiles and giggles a little.
Then he looks down at his list and sees Coach O's name is next of those to thank.
And he loses it. REALLY loses it.
That's magic right there fellas. That's grace and humble admiration and heartfelt love.
shite, now I'm tearing up again.

The kid is special and is loved almost as much by OSU fans as the LSU fans. Visit some of the OSU boards and they show nothing but love for the kid but I wonder how they'll feel if they meet us in the NC game and Joe torches them.

Hell, I just started tearing up when reading this thread. Coach O has taken a lot undeserved crap over the years. He deserved the acknowledgment Joe gave him last and I doubt its something many of us will never forget.

That’s just the awards-algorithm uploaded to allow mimicry of human emotions. It has been disabled, and he is back in the film room.

Joe Burrow's emotions have been disabled, he's now focused on kicking OU's rear.

Him choking up from the start made me think he was about to say something profound to start the speech. When he finally got out "I want to thank my OL", I legitimately started laughing.
Joe was all in his feels last night, and for good reason.

Golic jr was on the espn radio show after the award. Said he was driving back from army/navy. Had pulled into gas station to watch it and started crying listening to speech

Now that you say that, I hope we face and beat Clemson in the NCG. Then it would be Joe beating the team that eliminated OSU and the adoration of that fan base would be even stronger. Also, should make LSU even more popular in that region (recruiting) while also ending Clemson's win streak, which certainly won't hurt recruiting either.

Katrina, birth of my first child, death of my dog, tragic death of my cat (falling 6 stories to her death with me watching), and Joe Burrows Heisman speech. The times I’ve cried in 22 adult years.

When joe started thanking CEO for trusting him and giving him a chance it reminded me of the scene from Jerry Maguire when Rod Thanked Jerry at the end for being his Quwan.

Joe Burrow and Coach O's story plays great anywhere, Hollywood may be calling.

Oh good. I’m not alone here. Such an awesome moment that was shared with us all. What a connection Joe and O made.
