That's not how it works either. Anyone who gets a nomination, by definition, takes away an appointment from "some kid who wants to serve".

How about you direct your ire towards the 20-25% of academy cadets who wash out before signing their contract during their junior year?

You do realize that there are other paths to a commission besides service academies, right?

I don’t know why people are mad about this. There may be one or two players from the service academies who would get drafted each year.

Agree...this is an unnecessary exec order. Who the hell goes to a service academy as an avenue to pro ball considering that they know the rules?

Providing a little discipline to the NFL could be a good thing could it not? You don't have to brandish a weapon to serve.
