There’s that old joke about North Carolina... it’s a vale of humility, between two mountains of conceit.

The situation as of December 10th

Someone on reddit suggested a tax revolt. Withholding all funds from Richmond.

That would be interesting.

They may get away with it in extreme Northern Virginia but once they start moving South they are gonna catch tee total hell.

Maybe they can start in DC and remove the illegal guns from the hands of the felons, drug dealers and gang bangers first.

I’m really excited. I wasn’t hopeful about Henrico.

Way past time. The freaks and dorks have been placated long enough. We tried to play nice and they decided we were the devil.
I’m over it.

It will be interesting to see if gov blackface will try to use state police to enforce any new law and what the county cops will do.

State troopers likely don’t want to be used as brown shirts. They live with the people in the communities.

what's the deal with Bristol? They're the only part shaded yellow. It looks like they oppose gun control but don't want to be a sanctuary like the county?

The county is sanctuary. Looks like the city didn’t want to be. I’ll see if I can find something from their paper.

ETA:

Yep. The city council claims to be all in for 2A rights but fell short of declaring themselves a sanctuary city.

Looks like the citizens wanted to join the movement though. Don’t be surprised if it’s revisited.

I think civil disobedience may be our best option. Governments rule with the consent of the people. If we outright ignore Richmond, they will have to back down. They could escalate, arresting the leadership, but that would be a political disaster.

For the non Virginians in this thread. This is a popular revolt, but there does appear to be central leadership. The Republicans in Richmond are encouraging the counties to pursue this.

That makes me hopeful. It means the leadership understands how serious this is. And it shows they’re willing to fight.

For henrico to give Richmond the bird is very encouraging. That map has to get gov black faces attention.

Are these counties preemptively declaring themselves sanctuaries or has a law been passed? What’s the Dems plans for guns there?

I love Orange. I love those rolling green hills.

I’m from further north, I grew up in Loudoun and Fauquier.
