What separates Joe from previous Heisman Winners?

I already know people will jump down my throat for even asking this but I'm gonna ask anyway. The only two Heisman winners this past decade who were able to somewhat duplicate their college success on the pro level are Cam Newton and Lamar Jackson. What separates Joe from other Heisman winners like Mariota, Jameis Winston, Baker Mayfield, and RGIII? All of those guys were seen as transcendent talents in their time (as evidenced by how high they were drafted) and have faltered at the highest level. Also, how successful can Joe be going to a team like Cincinnati where he won't have the weapons or the OLine that he has now to lean on?

He has proven to be very resourceful in the past.

He has a confidence that is just different than past winners. It’s a chip on shoulder type thing.

Are you saying Baker Mayfield isn't confident?

And every single one of them, minus Winston (maybe) got drafted by shite organizations who have no plans to be competetive. Nashville...maybe. But Tampa seems to at least try a little. Washington and cleveland are cemeteries for pro football players.

Success in college =/= success in the pros.
There are countless examples of Heisman winning QBs who can't make it in the NFL for one reason or another. Many who do have one or two good seasons, then have a big dropoff.
I'm hopeful that Joe can be one of the successful ones with a long career. Time will tell.

Joe never stops working. I think it’s that simple.

Tebow. Minus the outward emotion that Tebow showed, Burrow has Tebow's drive, confidence, and the talent to go along with it. (unlike Tebow)

No, I said the confidence is different.

No one can answer that for sure. Football is the ultimate team game and if the overall talent around a great player isn't high it's hard to succeed. That said, I think Winston and Mayfield really love the LIFE of being a pro football player more than being a pro football player. And once things went bad they soured. RGIII was injured in his 1st (maybe 2nd season, I can't recall) and things started to go south. Plus, the offense he ran at Baylor wasn't being incorporated into the NFL as much at that time.
Maybe nothing separates Joe from those guys. Maybe this is the high point of his football career and he never plays this well again. But I think the one thing Joe has going for him is his extreme desire to compete. To be great at that level you have to want to be great above all else, not just live the extravagant life of a football player. The fact that his whole team, a team with really great players in their own right looks at him as the unquestioned leader is telling. That's not just respect given to the QB, but respect earned by his work outside of just gameday.
Simply put, I think he wants to be a great football player more than he wants to be a celebrity. That's going to give him a chance to succeed. The next question is can he handle and shrug off the criticism when it inevitably comes? We as a society love to build people up only to tear them down. And that issue is exacerbated 10,000X more so than in the past with any and every ding-a-ling having a "voice" on social media. Joe has grown up in a generation that doesn't know much of a life without social media. Can he tune it all out when pitchfork crowd eventually comes out?

I seriously think the difference between Joe Burrow and these other Heisman winners is simply that these QBs were playmakers in college, and their skillset or preparation didn't necessarily translate to the NFL.
What separates Joe is that he is probably a whole lot smarter than these guys, understands football better, has ice in his veins and is a leader who doesn't get rattled. He seems more prepared for the NFL than any QB I can remember in recent years.

Football knowledge, accuracy, leadership qualities, mental and physical toughness, calmness and confidence in the biggest of moments and makes teammates believe in him and that they can do anything together.

college ball and pro ball are completely different. I don't care whether a great college player does well in the NFL. It's college ball.
For example, Tim Tebow was one the greatest players in college football history -- and was a terrible NFL QB.
Who cares.

Joe definitely won't have the whole "other teams didn't want me" type of motivation in the NFL. Fans everywhere are ready for their teams to risk it all for him. That's A LOT of expectation at the highest level of the game. Hopefully he keeps that chip on his shoulder in the NFL.

Congrats on your QB getting the Heisman. He's not got the hardware yet but little doubt in my mind he'll be holding that up Saturday. He had a great year and deserves it.
My two bits, enjoy what you got here and now.
Personally I hope he's successful as a Pro but it's going to get more difficult.
He won't be going against D's that miss their assignments often or DB's that are a step slower than his receivers. Just the nature of taking the step to the next level.

His pre-play observation to find mismatches, his calmness in the pocket to go through his progressions and find the open guy, his quick feet and uncanny awareness in the pocket to move, slide, spin out of sacks and extend plays, his keeping his eyes up and looking down field when moved out of the pocket and knowing when to throw or take off, his unspoken leadership, holding everyone around him accountable, his lifting up of his teammates and always giving them the credit, his hyper-competitive will to win. But mostly his big dick.
