Why shouldn’t they? They just ran the gauntlet and can have a few days to decompress. I’ll guarantee the coaches are working. It’s not like regular season now, need to refresh and get ready for OU.

Finals week, players always have finals week off from football to concentrate on academics.

Why not? You know what your team can do. Get them rest and get them in the gym. The coaches will be hard at work scheming while that happens.

The game isn't until the 28th. It's probably close to finals week as well.

He is talking about official practices. You are only allowed 15 practices and it’s finals week. Gives the coaches a week to recruit, do some self scouting, and start on a game plan for Oklahoma. I’m sure the players will work on their own and the coaches trust that they will so they don’t have to force them to come to the facility this week.
