You can’t even jokingly make a case that you could choose anyone else first at this point.

You will have voters that are Ohio state fans and Oklahoma fans that vote with their heart. They have great players but Burrows numbers were just at another level.

The only person that might be somewhat reasonable is Hurts because of what he did on the ground

Burrow while perhaps not as capable of a runner has proven that when needed to he can pick up key first downs

He had good runs against AU, Bama, UF, UGA in key moments to extend drives

But you're right. It shouldn't even be close because of the level of competition and the complete dominance of everyone we played.

Jalen Hurts has essentially been Oklahoma's offense.

Fields has a better supporting cast than Hurts', however, I'd argue their competition (especially Fields) has been significantly weaker compared to LSU

Tua? Hurt. Sucks for him, and I wish him well, but Burrow has been upright the entire year.

Taylor (Wisconsin) If you've ever watched Wisconsin play, they use Taylor the way the old Houston Oilers used Earl Campbell.

Also, voters are provincial, and human.

Having said all of that, he * should * win, and I'd agree it'd be a travesty if he didn't.

It’s pretty unanimous.

Burrow in a landslide.

It's already engraved.

Other players have had great seasons too.

Nope. Troy Smith had 91.63% when he won and that's the highest.

If you don't credit the competition once in a while, it diminishes the win. If I were to win it, I'd want to know that I'd good competition. So, it's OK if a few think there are other worthy players.

It’s crazy but the biggest margin went to Reggie Bush for 91% voters rating. He now isn’t even considered a winner

Manning didn't deserve shite. Couldn't win the sec east with championship caliber talent around him. Tee Martin wins it all the year after he leaves with essentially the same team.

Manning was a better pro than he was a college player.

He may set the record for % of 1st place votes. OJ Simpson currently owns that. His tally was 855 1st, 128 2nd, 82 3rd, with 2,853 points total out of 1200 total votes.

Apparently there are now fewer votes (928) than in 1968, so Burrow won't set the total points record. But this vote will be an epic landslide.

Jalen hurts was a turnover machine. You guys have to be kidding. OU was in close games down the stretch BECAUSE of turnovers by hurts. He is a rb, playing the qb position and has no chance at ever being an NFL qb. For the record, fields is much the same way.
