My family relied on food stamps (EBT) when my dad died at 48.
I was a student. If this happened then, we might’ve just starved.
Now, many people will.
It’s shameful how the GOP works overtime to create freebies for the rich while dissolving lifelines of those who need it most. LINK …
It’s like she didn’t read it OR she assumes her vapid base didn’t.
The work requirement would only impact able-bodied, childless adults between the ages of 18-49 which means her family would not have been impacted by this requirement at all.
But you know, she’s never been one to care all that much about being factually correct as long as she’s morally correct, right?

A quick look at the people in Walmart check out lines who pay with EBT cards will confirm that none of them are starving under the Trump administration...and that most are quite the opposite.

So her Dad didn't pay into Social Security?
I know when my Dad died at 37, the money that my Mom got paid every month was actually pretty sizable. We didn't need food stamps, I can tell you that.
Also, she would have kept receiving a check from SS as long as she stayed in school.

Whatever the details of the new policy, it will have a minuscule effect on government spending. Just a”feel good” action for the conservatives. Trump definitely knows how to manipulate an audience. Especially when that audience is so willing.

No mentally competent person in the United States is involuntarily going without enough food (which I define as sufficient calories and micronutrients to sustain life and general health).
In addition to the wasteful, overlapping and relatively unchecked federal, state and local anti-poverty and nutrition support programs (which are dizzying when you dig into them), there are also numerous faith-based and other private, non-profit organizations dedicated heavily or solely to preventing this exact thing (e.g. Food Bank, various church food drives).
SO, I'm going to go ahead and (YET AGAIN) call out the gentle lady from the Bronx's bullshite for being bullshite.
