He’s even been here long enough to remember when the school still situated its snarling live Bengal Tiger in front of the visitor’s locker room.

They stopped that pretty recently

Other than that, solid article.

I thought she was from some super loaded family? I didn't get the vibe Sam was that rich.

But good for him man

Brooks and all of her sisters are ridiculous.

Incredible person. If you are the parent of a recruit, knowing there is a man like this in your son's life is one ace in LSU's hole.

I've known Sam Nader since 1982-83. First class guy who is truly an LSU legend. He was directly responsible for making sure Kentwood Spring Water and 10-K thirst quencher were sponsors of LSU Football. Sam wanted a local product and told Gatorade (PepsiCo) and Powerade (Coca Cola) to kick rocks. The partnership lasted close to 10 years and dissolved when then KSW owners, Suntory Corp. shut down the 10-K plant. The Japanese were lost and had no vision or foresight of the product. 10-K had previously sponsored The Sugar Bowl, Senior Bowl, 25 different CFB programs, with commercials and advertising frequently seen on Nickelodeon and Seinfeld.

And now you know the rest of the story

Can confirm. Really genuine, and the unseen factor in LSU's recruiting success. He knows everybody. Every high school coach, every booster, anybody who can help the program. I've had the occasion to drive both Les Miles and Nick Saban around when they flew into my little town in BFE for recruiting trips. I'm not a big money guy by any means, but somehow I was in Nader's rolodex as someone to call for that kind of thing.

Coach Nader taught me Coaching Football 1001! Was held in either the Lawton Room when we needed to use video or the old locker room for regular classes

That's hard to believe Sam's joke was the worst at the SEC meetings. I heard him tell what I think is a hilarious joke during a speech he made at a local construction suppliers meeting. It went something like this:
We pride ourselves at LSU on identifying and recruiting players that think quickly on their feet. One of our recruits worked part time in the produce department at a small grocery. A lady asked him how much a half of a cantaloupe was. The recruit thought this lady was stupid for asking for half a cantaloupe, but he didn't know the answer so he headed to the back to ask his manager. He said to his manager, "There's this stupid old lady who wants to know how much for half a cantaloupe." At that exact moment, he noticed the lady had walked up behind him. The recruit continued, "and this lovely lady wants to buy the other half."
The room erupted in laughter and applause at Sam.
Go Tigers.

For any LSU football player without a place to eat for Thanksgiving, Sam Nader annually has a standing invitation for them to join him at Piccadilly, a cafeteria-style restaurant known for its affordability. Last year, Burrow was the only one who showed up.

Thought this was kinda cool for some reason

I’ve worked with his brother in Austin for 20 years . Both are just solid men . A couple years ago Dr Nader gave us a couple tickets to the Arkansas game. My son wrote Coach Nader a letter thanking him for the great game experience..A couple days later my son received a schedule with Coach O thanking my son for coming to the game and a Geaux Tigers
