With the 2nd to last rankings coming out tonight I'd expect them to look close to this.
1.OSU
2.LSU
3.Clemson
4.Georgia
5.Utah
6.Oklahoma
7.Baylor
8.Florida
9.Alabama
10.Wisconsin
11.PSU
12.Auburn

If chalk holds up this weekend it could change things alot.
1.LSU
2.OSU
3.Clemson
4.Utah
5.Oklahoma
6.Georgia
7.Florida
8.Alabama
9.PSU
10.Auburn

Baylor and Wisconsin would drop out of the top 10.

How could the committee then justify keeping OSU with 1 final top 10 win over an LSU with 4 top 10 wins? They would absolutely catch hell from the media.

The committee will just make up whatever bullshite rationalization they want. They apparently have no qualms about being consistent or logical.

Beating the #22 team is just as impressive as beating the #4 team, if the committee says so. The opposite will be true the next week.

Looking "complete" is more important than SOS, if the committee says so. The opposite will be true the next week.

The committee format is a joke.

No bama in the top 4, no care about seeding.

I actually think it would be awesome if LSU beat Clemson and Ohio state to win a natty. But not gonna complain if LSU gets the 1 seed.

The same way they're doing it now while LSU's résumé is better.

They already are outside of FOX.

I agree with you except I think OU jumps Utah. The Pac 12 will scream from the high heavens if that happens (and hopefully it will be another step towards a 6 or 8 team playoff), but OU will have played a tougher schedule.

It will be interesting to see what the overall SOS would be after LSU plays UGA. Right now, OSU has a significantly better overall SOS than LSU (26 v. 62). But like you said, a win over UGA would likely give LSU 4 top 10 wins to OSU's 1. Also noteworthy would be 2 of LSU's 4 wins would have come away from home, while OSU's lone win would be a home win. If, IF, the committee is supposed to be modeled after the NCAAT basketball selection committee, then wins away from home count more. Also, wins vs. good teams are MUCH more impactful than "bad losses" or even blowouts vs. average teams. The NCAA basketball committee says every year that the best teams are the ones that (1) can beat the other great teams and (2) can beat teams away from home. With a win over UGA, LSU would check those boxes more than OSU.

Another game to watch is the rematch between Cincinnati and Memphis this weekend. Cincy is (likely) still in the CFP top 25. That is a feather in OSU's cap. Another loss to Memphis would almost assuredly drop Cincy out. Texas proving just how overrated they were coming into the season has hurt LSU.

it would also help if Memphis beats Cincy again

LSU wins this weekend and that’s wins over UGA, Bama, UF and AU all of whom would be in the top 12.

Lol at the “complete” team bullshite holding us from number 1

IIRC, LSU would be the first team in history to beat 5 AP Top10 teams in a season.

The "committee" can stick that right in its "eye test".

I hope Penn State gets matched up with a hungry Georgia or Alabama or Florida or auburn...any of them. Penn St is ridiculously overrated based on a very weak big 10.

I fully believe that LSU should be number 1, this season has been amazing to watch and i have never felt better as a Tiger fan. BUT the number 1 seed has never won the playoff so would it be that bad to be the 2 seed? Yes we would have to play 2 hard games instead of 1, but we have shown time and time again that we play our best games when the stage is higher. Just food for thought here.

They are gonna move Wisconsin up to 5 or 6 to make OSU’s win look better than it really is. Book it

I think the committee was setting things up to avoid a LSU / Bama rematch, amongst other potential reasons to bump the Buckeyes. Now that Bama is out, and we won big — I could see us jumping back to #1.

It’s possible they want to avoid a SEC vs SEC semi final, which would guarantee a SEC team in the ship. If we take care of business on Saturday, we should earn the #1 spot, and I believe we would get it. What’s more intriguing at that point would be if the committee chooses Jalen Hurts over Utah, which has been the MORE COMPLETE TEAM than the Sooners.
