What’s Going to be the Tradition for the #9 Jersey After this Season?

We have the #18 and #7 tradition. What’s the criteria for #9 going forward?

None, it’ll be retired

Try telling that to Marcel

I’ll make my way to the team hotel this week and actually try to tell Marcel.

really dislike lsu fans obsession with retiring numbers
but it's whatever. i am all for statues, jerseys (not the actual number) being retired.
i know i am fighting a losing battle with this opinion.
i just know tebow won 2 national championships, a heisman, and is one of the most influential college football players ever and florida has still not retired his number.
i wonder if the player has input in this at all?
i'm just glad #7 hasn't gotten retired, because it's pretty cool seeing all the great athletes wear it.

How the frick does one retire a Jersey? So what, another Burrow can't come along and wear the #9? It's not like we're talking about a guy named Jefferson or something. How many more Burrows are coming through that door?
If the guy wins a Heisman and propels LSU to a National Title, retire the number. The 7 and 18 numbers are different and shouldn't even be in the discussion. This isn't about a new tradition. This is about the legacy the guy leaves. What he has done will likely never be matched in LSU history.
It won't be retired immediately, but I think it will eventually.
And how the hell can you be ok with statues and not retiring a number? Statues are more ridiculous that retiring a number.

If we keep retiring numbers, we're going to run out. We already double up on O & D numbers.

Honor him appropriately by giving it to the hardest working player every fall camp. I’d be willing to bet he would appreciate that more than having it retired.

They probably won’t issue it on offense anymore.
