Truth: Jrue is a great player but cannot be the main leader of your team

If you want to be successful in the playoffs and compete for a championship.
GUy plays balls to the wall and is an amazing defender, but his lack of passion and his ability to blow off a heartbreaking loss instantaneously as the buzzer sounds is not what you want from your leader.
Leaders show emotion and rue the feeling that comes after a loss like that. They don’t go trapping around like this is an exhibition match with their Ex that forcer her way out.
Hopefully the Pels find a leader for this team, because Jrue can’t and won’t play that role for them.

Ingram and Zion got this

There is truth to this. The greatest would take this lose and use it to fuel there fire.

Taking losses lightly means the value of winning is lessened. If you can’t even take 10 minutes to show that the loss hurts then it doesn’t mean much to you.
This is why people assume great players talent-wise can carry a team when in reality they can’t. Leadership is the key.
Durant didn’t have it and bolted to OKc where I honestly think Thompson was that person.
Kawhi is a similar guy and his success comes from his talent and ability to lift others games. Jrue just doesn’t have it

He’s an elite third option. Always been.

Zion will lead this team like few superstars can and in turn Jrue will teach Zion how to stay away from egirls and fatty foods. It will work out nicely

I thought it has been telling that in his two recent interviews Griffin has mentioned Redick, not really Jrue, as the example of a veteran player that has really taken on a key leadership role on the team.

Ingram sure had it tonight...

Whew, the opinions that get made over a game! Lol

Really great teams have different leaders who lead in different ways and situations. No, Jrue can't do everything himself. Right now, Redick is doing a lot of leading, but Ingram and Zion will eventually assume a lot of leadership responsibilities.
Leadership wasn't the problem last night. The problem was no Derrick Favors and Zion and lacking the right bodies to guard AD. I can't wait until we play them again and Zion and AD go head-to-head against each other.

I still think it’s going to be Ingram and Zion as the leaders of the team with Hart as the guy off the bench.

Again, there's different types of leadership, but Ingram is basically a quiet guy. Zion is eventually going to be the vocal leader of the team -- but only after he feels ready for it, because he's naturally a humble guy and isn't going to take on any role that he hasn't earned. So, that will take some time.

Here's Ingram, after the game, with the leadership that I think we can expect from him, about the stolen ball at the end of the game:
“I just didn’t meet the basketball. I think I was a little lackadaisical getting open a little bit. He saw that I was open. I just didn’t meet the basketball.”
Instead of leaving the blame on Jrue for the pass, he takes the blame on himself. That's real leadership. I'm loving Ingram more every game.

You’re creating an equation that is false, brah.
You are making an awful lot out of insignificant events last night.

Very true

Jrue is not a leader. Ingram and Zion will be the leaders. His AD photo shop as shirty plates in the clutch tells me to unload him.

Just because he’s not a loud rahrah visibly emotional player does not mean he isnt a leader. By all accounts, he’s a great vet that works well with young talent. No teammate has ever disliked him. Judging his “fire” off of him being friendly with one of his best friends after an NBA game is asinine.
I do agree that he isn’t a first option, but my God ya’ll turn on our players faster and faster every game. Appreciate the insane amount of good he brings to the team instead of the few bad things he might happen to do

So it would have been better if Jrue would have sulked or turned over the bench? You don’t really believe that.
