I'd go if I'm him. He has been rising and with no Burrow he would be taking a huge risk that Brennan can be as effective. I doubt his stock gets higher.

His draft stock is at its peak after this season. He needs to go cash in a big check while he can

While you start stupid threads often, this will be a a discussion soon.
As low as Jefferson was rated, if his draft stock has risen this much he should take the money and go. He has exceeded everyone’s expectations here and he’s been a solid Tiger and a fan favorite. He deserves to be paid. Can’t wait to see him ball out in the NFL.
Here’s to a great Tiger.

He was only rated low because he was a serious grades risk, henceforth him signing late.

Or his stock could possibly drop if he has lower production next year with an offense that will have a new quarterback and likely tilted more toward the run than the past depending on what Brennan shows.
I am not sure that Brennan will be able to throw as much as. Urie with the same success.

I doubt the receiving class will be any thinner next year. There's a decent chance he'll surprise at the Combine with his speed and could be the 3rd WR off the board this year behind Jeudy and Lamb from Oklahoma.

Every Jr should return in my totally biased opinion

He is going to be a Bengal as well

Burris is helping Jefferson’s draft stock.

He’s gone and he should be. There’s no way he has another season like this one with Burrow gone. Jefferson is NFL ready anyway. He’s our most polished route runner by a mile.

He is going to play a long time in the NFL as a 2 option on a good team.
I could easily see JJ have a "Golden Tate" type career. Good possession receiver, crisp routes, great YAC

Obviously his draft grade makes a difference but the pool of available prospects at his position makes a difference as well.
You can find very good receivers every year. That should not stop him.

absolutely not, it's not even a question
Posted on 11/25/19 at 10:52 am to PhillyFan1994
No, no.
He won't get taller, faster, increase any of his measurables. He will be drafted on production against better than average competition and a great year with his hands.
Burrow is leaving, I am a fan of Brennan..but he is no Burrow. Jefferson will not have the numbers next year he has this year. He is injury free, I would keep it hat way and start a pro career.

Normally, I'm in favor of everybody but 1st and 2nd round locks coming back. But our WR depth is about to be off the charts, and Jefferson's draft stock has all but hit a ceiling. He has done as much on the field as he possibly ever could; he has nothing left to prove. Unless another year at LSU will improve his 40 time, vertical leap, or bench press, he should probably declare early. I honestly think CEH is in a similar boat.

Its not a dumb question at all, but I don't think he should stay. He's been overshadowed by Chase so I don't see him ascending into round 1-2 as long as he's in Jamar's shadow.

From selfish point of view, I'm for it!
