I guess the assumption is that since the SEC lifted the ban that now the SEC champ will be allowed to sell it. but I'd definitely like more confirmation on that.

I swear some people must live around and be related to fck ups if they can only relate to people drinking alcohol as being a problem.

Do you even LSU? You definitely live north of 10

They’ve always sold booze for SECCG because it was at the falcons stadium not an sec stadium

I dont know about this year... But this is ABSOLUTELY FALSE. People are just talking out of their arse in this thread. It was not the same as a neutral site game because it was a SEC function. Believe me I was there 2 years ago and regretted throwing away my whiskey before entering the stadium. I know it's been a while since we've gone. But for the love of god stop spreading lies in this thread on assumption

In years pass no alcohol was sold at SEC champ or the SEC baseball tournament. I have been to all of them that LSU has been in the last 15 years and it has always been this way.

It’s a legit question for this year and hopefully they are allowed to sell since the Sec ban was released but not sure if anyone knows the true answer yet.

Neutral site games in Dallas and Houston or different than official SEC events so you cannot compare.

PSA: Tickets will be super easy to get. Just walk up to the stadium and there will be people selling seats.

Yes, there is expensive beer too. Bring a flask.

thank you finally someone else in here with some damn sense. I was starting to get a bit annoyed with responses from people who had no clue.

Exactly what you said. When I went to the SEC Basketball tournament a few years ago, you could buy beer but couldn't take it in the seating area, had to drink it in a "lounge" type area. Hopefully now that it's allowed, they will sell at all SEC Postseason events.

There has never been beer sold in the Ga Dome for the SEC Championship. It was banned by the SEC. BUT, this year that rule changed and they let the schools sell it if they wanted. Now that they have lifted the ban on beer sales at SEC sporting events they could if they wanted to.

Things to consider, the game is in Atlanta and UGA has noted NO to sell beer in their stadium. Big bible belt area and the decision was mostly based from that base. The SEC office is in Birmingham and Bama doesnt sell beer in their stadium either (but for a whole other reason altogether).

If I had to bet, I would say yes for this year. Its a way to generate more money for the conference and the schools like Bama/UGA can profit from it without actually allowing it in their stadium but I have not seen anything official from the SEC office.

Ive got a buddy who worked for one of the breweries and is assigned to sports venues and I know he's in the know with these things...I'll ask him.

They didn't sell it in 2011 vs UGA unless you were in club.

Okay, I just heard back. As of now the answer is no. The beer companies are still lobbying the SEC but as of now it will not be offered in general seating areas.

Since LSU allows beer and wine sales in tiger stadium just sell it to people wearing purple and gold.....THE SEC IS SUCH A STUPID CONFERENCE WHY TRY AND FORCE YOUR MORALS ON OTHERS AND LOSE OUT ON SO MUCH MONEY...
