I think independents are paying attention to what is going on and they know its a sham. This is nothing but a dog and pony show before the House impeaches him(if they ever vote on it) so the Senate is the only thing that really matters at this point.

Plus think about how many great ads the Dems gave us today for the 2020 election.

I'm a politically active conservative who is paying no attention whatsoever to this. It's awesome, TBH. This is the first major political/governmental event of my lifetime that I'm almost entirely ignoring.

My guess is that plenty of independents are too, so while that would mean they're not tuned into the "sham" aspect - it's probably not a bad thing overall.

For anecdotal point of reference - people at my haircut place, the bar, the store, etc. were talking about Kavanaugh. There was tons of buzz about the whole saga. I hear almost nothing about impeachment, seriously.
