Didn't Serafina's hawk talk to Lyra during the first fire drill and let her know that they would be ready, and sort of set up a plan on escaping?
Found it a little odd they omitted that and chose for it to be pretty much luck that they escaped at the same time they showed up.

Yep, Lyra did talk to Sarafina's Daemon Hawk I just don't remember it being about escape plans.
They also intentionally made it look like the Gyptians were not going to arrive on time.
Sarafina almost didn't. But dayum, when she did, she is lethal as frick.
She no doubt saves Lyra from the fall as well.

Scoresby and the witches had a relationship of mutual respect at an arm's length in the novel - aware of each other, met each other in passing, but generally avoided each other's business.
The scene in this episode was played as more friendly and almost downright flirty between Lee and Serafina, keeping in line with the changes made to his character in "Armour". It's like they feel the need to overuse LMM because he's such a big name.

That was a really good episode. Serafina was a highlight. Scoresby continues to be a weak link, he just doesnt do the character justice, but o well.
Im not even worried about how well it follows the book anymore but the entire Bolvanger scene was pretty spot on imo. I already knew what was going to happen but the Lyra/Pan separation still made me tense up. A show is doing something right if it can make you nervous on something you already know the outcome to.
The kid who plays Roger is a really good actor. Good for him.

I didn't know who he was in the show but thought "man this guy is trash". I then saw a commercial with him in it.
Broadway must be different than movies/tv. He can't act for shite.

These last two episodes have been lit.

Yes they have. This last one will probably be popping off the whole time

Fun episode.. but small gripes.
There were some really rushed scenes and horrible acting.
The Indiana Jones balloon guy is bad.
The witch always seems to fix things.
And the magical metal cigarette holder/zodiac pocket watch is the ultimate weapon.
Also, I want an armored talking polar bear of my own.

I still have no idea what the black guy wants with the kid and the letters.
Are they gonna explain that?

Glad I’m not the only one. Only thing I’ve caught is that he crossed worlds at some point I think?

I feel like i'm missing something. Like i should of read the books before i watched this series. Watched all the episodes last night, and it's interesting, but some really bad acting
At times, it feels like a typical, bad, BBC America series.

I think maybe his dad crossed. I don’t know.

Lord Boreal, prior to the beginning of the series, had discovered a window between his universe and another. During this season, he found out that John Parry (Will's father, the explorer) had discovered another window and also gone back and forth. The idea of a multiverse is stated as heretical to the Magisterium (though they are aware it is true).

Episode 7 fell very flat for me. The bear fight was not parricularly spectacular and they didn't make it at all clear that Iorek was faking being injured.
Can't believe they revealed so much about Asrael in that last scene, let alone the major spoilers in the preview.
The scene of Will in the house was the only one of his plot that I liked all season, hated the way they made his mother act.
Every scene with LMM gets worse every week.
Feel like I'm being nitpicky. Hope they go balls to the wall for the finale. Northern Lights has a spectacular final chapter, one of the great finales in adolescent lit.

Bit of a spoiler in that post. I was more confused by his reactions than anything. But now I can guess what comes next.
I really like the show though.

As someone who can’t remember the book from like 20 years ago, I have no idea what they revealed
