What's everyone bringing to the blind this weekend? I'm dragging out a Stoeger M3000 but would love to upgrade to an A400 plus or SBE3 or at the least a Franchi Affinity 3. I've shouldered them all and the A400 feels the best to me, I'm not sure I want to deal with the gas system.

Browning Maxus. Never a hiccup out of it, except the one time I put it back together incorrectly.

It might not be this weekend, but I’ll have the Browning Silver on opening day here

When I go, I'll probably take my SBE III.
If I were buying again right now, I'd consider an M1 in 12 or likely even 20.
I've got an old 870 Youth Model in 20 that I'll probably take at times until my 6 year old is ready for it.
IF I were buying now, I'd consider the 20 and paying up for some BOSS #6's or 5's.

How do you like the M3000?

Have had a variety of beretta's, great guns. Put my A400 Xtreme in the closet when I got my Benelli M2, and eventually just sold the A400. Way too bulky and for duck hunting I'll take inertia all day long over gas despite the little bit more kick I get. Way easier to clean when hunting ugly conditions, rain/mud, etc. less moving parts.
For clays? Beretta AL390 is still my go-to every time.

It's great...zero complaints, smooth shooting gun, cycles everything I put through it. Hit my limits on everything with it(with the exception of this past teal season, but hit everything I shot at).

Why do you like the M2 over the A400 besides the extra bulk? Is it a better shooting gun? Patterns? POI?

Got my ~16 year old Super Black Eagle (original) ready to go. Would love an SBE3 but mine hasn't given me any real problems despite a definite lack of care and maintenance.

Benelli ultralight 12ga
Definitely not the ideal duck gun, but it kills ducks. I only hunt with 2-3/4 shells and the recoil still gets old quick.

I wish I still had my Gen 1, I'd trade it for my III in a heartbeat.

Walked on a synthetic gen I at woods and waters in Tuscaloosa 15 years ago that still haunts me. Think they wanted $750 for it and it was cherry. Mine is beat up and held together with baling wire but still delivers when i hunt the duck.

Been shooting a beretta xtrema 2 for almost 15 years. Just ordered an m2 20 and will exclusively shoot it unless I feel like I need the 12 on occasion

Why all the love for M2 over SBE3?

The M3000 is a great gun, I have not had any issues with mine.

Kind of a catch-all here since a few inquired. Of note I hunted an Xtrema2 for many years before upgrading to the A400 Xtreme when it came out (though an impulse buy). Both were great guns.
Why M2 and not SBE.....M2 is a 3 inch gun, and contrary to the real duck hunting pro's out there, you don't need 3.5" shells to kill ducks and geese. As a result, it's scaled slightly smaller than the SBE family because of the shorter breech, and is thus very light.
Nothing wrong with the SBE's that I know of, I just like the M2 as a very simple no-nonsense duck gun. I throw it in the grass, bottom of pirogue, etc. 35-40 hunts a season.
As for the 3.5" Beretta's vs the benelli's, I once heard someone describe it as "swinging a 2X4" and sure enough, the bulk of the big Beretta's is just about like that once you step away and shoulder some slimmer guns. That said, the smaller framed beretta's with the skinnier fore ends on them swing super sweet.
