"Bama can get to the QB" - YES, they can, but not the way Auburn does. Auburn's defense was such a nuisance because they were rushing only 3-4 Dls and were able to create pressure up the middle (in the 3-1-7 package).

Bama total sacks on the season - 19
LBers - 14
DLs - 3.5 (Raekwon Davis does not have a sack all year, not even an assisted sack. Eboigbe has 0.5 sacks)
DBs - 1.5

Only way Bama gets to the QB is to rush LBers (meaning they're rushing 5-6 guys) - and we've seen what Burrow does with that, i.e. Texas and Florida.

Quit asking if Bama can mimic Auburn - they can't.

We are the same way. Do you think LSU could mimic Auburn? And LSU has seen better OLs than Bama has.

LSU total sacks on the season - 20
LBers - 11
DLs - 5.5
DBs - 3.5

Also, I like seeing the gumps looking for confirmation by running models of LSU/Bama Nov 9. They worried.

That's kind of how it works when you run a 3-4.

They run a 3-4, where the pass rush is predicated on outside backers rushing the passer, whereas Auburn runs a 4-3 where DT's and DE's have an increased role in rushing the passer.

Bama has a very good pass rush bringing 4 people.

Like I stated in the other thread considering Justin Eboigbe (DE), DJ Dale (NG), Lee Shane (MLB) and Christian Harris (WLB) are all freshmen i think it's safe to say that it's not probable. Not saying it isnt possible but I highly doubt they can apply pressure rushing 3 consistently.

Do y’all think the Alabama fans will sarcastically cheer for us the first time we score? Or do you think it will it be more like “Uh-oh Happy learned how to putt”. ?

Terrell Lewis is how they get to the QB. He's a monster.

Last year bama played a 3-4 defense every game until ours, and then switched it up to a 4-3 base against LSU. A completely different look. It's almost a waste of time to do these comparisons in this game. I would expect a better overall performance by bama's d (when it comes to yards allowed), but Auburn's DL are definitely better on individual levels.

Bama doesn't have anyone like Quinnen Williams this season. The guy wreaked havoc on our OL last year which kept us from getting anything going on offense. LSU will score more than 30 this year. Just need the defense to pressure Tua/Jones consistently.

How effective will LSU be at neutralizing the gump offense?

Auburn pressed the receivers quite a bit and caused a lot of off timing throws. Alabama has a better secondary and will try to do the same thing.

Bama may not be as good on the DLine, but they are still very talented and they have LBs who can pass rush. They won't come out in a 3-1-7, but they will try to do what Auburn did...and that's press the receivers, and try to get pressure with 4 up front.

I suspect that they will use their corners to play press coverage. They will try to disguise what the safeties and LBs will do until post snap forcing JB9 to make his read later. The O-line must allow 0 pressure with 4 rushers forcing the gumps to blitz creatively. Maybe then JB9 and his host of fleet receivers can burn them.

What will the LSU defense have for the gump offense?
